Log Barn

This log barn, over 100 years old, was donated by Wade Collinsworth on Rockhouse Fork of Burning Fork in Magoffin County.  It is a two-pen barn with logs separating the pens.  These logs have the saddle cut on the corners, which we refer to as the Northern or German notch.  All other cabins have the half-dovetail or North Carolina notch.  One stall in this barn has a hollowed out tree for a feed trough.  The upstairs has a puncheon floor that is very unique.
