Little to share. I could find nothing on Robert's parents, and a little on Barbara.

Jacob Whoberry 1st married Mary Harbison in 1805, had 7 children, then he married Mary "Polly" Gray, the widow of Jacob Claunch in 1825. She & Jacob Claunch had had 8 children..Jacob & Polly had only 1 child Martha "Patsy" Whoberry b 10 Nov 1829. Both Jacob & Polly died when Patsy was very young and she was raised by her Gray grandparents. She had a "natural" daughter, Sarah Jane Whoberry born 13 Oct 1849. Using the $50 she received as a special legacy from her Gray grandfather, she & Sarah Jane moved to Mo. where she had Claunch "kinfolk". The two Kenleys are sons of Polly's sister, Patsy Gray Kenley. Elias Montgomery's wife was a sister of the husband of a daughter of a brother of Polly, whose wife was also a Montgomery.

Thank you for the marriage date. Robert and two sons ca. IL (Jackson and Union Co.)in early 1800s. David Casey appears with family in 1820 and affliates with these families. I feel there is a close relationship but cannot make the connection. A David Casey also marries there but the 1815 marriage date makes him marring as an early teenager. David lives to the 1850 census and states he was born in SC. In the 1800 census (there) there is a John who was listed as a Rev. War soldier and wondered if he could be father of all. Wanda

Anne,

I especially liked your response, very interesting events. I note you did not cite your sources. Could you tell me where this material can be found? It certainly filled out a couple of spaces for me.

Do you have a children's list for Mary Harbison and Jacob Whoberry's 7 children? Is this one of your family lines too? A young man in Virginia sent me his Harbison material sometime back,he will be very interested in your response.Very nice to see a new face and I hope you will be a frequent contributor. Thanks for the information and Happy New Year.

Mercer Co Ky. Circuit Court, Whoberry's Heirs vs MITCHELL, In Chancery, filed 11 Jul 1835..is the source for the names of the 7 children for Jacob & Mary (Harbison) WHOBERRY. Mercer Co., Ky. Guardian Bonds give further data on some of these children, those who were underage in 1836. Ky Will Book 10, pg 20, Will of John GRAY names the 8 Claunch children of Polly (Gray) CLAUNCH Whoberry and her daughter Martha "Patsy" Whoberry. Clinton Co., Ky. Tax Rolls (microfilm) prove that George Washngton JAMES did not leave Clinton Co.,Ky. until about 1852-3. Johnson Co., Mo deed in 1855 proves that he had married Martha "Patsy" before 1855 (after she was in Mo) however a bond for that marriage to my knowledge has not been located. Receipt in the suit Grays Heirs vs Grays Heirs filed in Mercer Co., Ky in 1851, prove that Martha was Martha "Patsy" Whoberry (not Bowen) on the 31st day of Dec 1850,(she had reached her 21st birthday 10 Nov 1850) this being more than a year after the birth of her daughter Sarah Jane Whoberry on 13 Jul 1849.
