Joseph Nifong of Mercer Co Ky was 78 in 1860, where I found him in Randolph Co. Illinois. He lived with his daughter Sarah and George Lavit. Next door lived the Roaches, daughter Elizabeth aged 5. Perhaps this is a brother or uncle of your Daniel. You had Randolph Co. Mo. Is this the right state? If it is Illinois, they are in Ellis Grove p.o. page 887 on the census. Living close by are Jacob Lebhors or Venhours. Does that mean anything? Also Strikers, Roberts, Evans, and Kellers, and Coored? Disregard my other messages, as they were immature.

Spring Hill Cemetery Records, Volume 1, published in 1998 by the Harrodsburg Historical Society lists the following:Elizabeth Gibson, buried on Nov. 2, 1921 in section D, lot 17, grave number unknown. The lot is owned by J.L. Gibson. Other Gibsons listed in the same section & lot are: two unnamed infants & burial dates of Feb. 8, 1869 & Sept. 15, 1965. Names listed for the two infants as the parents are Alfred & James A.. Also listed: James A., buried Oct. 1, 1907, James H., buried May 25, 1869, John L., buried May 6, 1911, Mamie J., buried Mar. 2, 1865, Mary J., buried May 29, 1875, Walter H., buried Aug. 9, 1942. Walter H. is listed as being interred in grave number 12. It is probably safe to assume that the Gibsons had a minimum of 12 graves in the section and lot.

Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Mercer County.
Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Please note: The year of the burial for one of the infants is listed as being 1965. I would suspect that 1865 would be more logical.

I am looking for my ggrandparents William and Mary (MURRY) PRESTON. I know that my Uncle Ben Wesley PRESTON is buried at the Spring Hill Cemetery as is his wife Mary Ellen. I was wondering if William and Mary might be buried there or if there are any other PRESTON's buried near Ben.

My grandfather John Wesley PRESTON and grandmother America Jane BROUGHTON PRESTON LEONARD are buried in the Burgin Cemetery. They both died in the late 1950's. Do you know if anyone has done a listing for this cemetery and others in Mercer County. I'm also trying to figure out what happened to America Jane's parents, who were Keneda (Conn) BROUGHTON and Martha Annie MURRY BROUGHTON.

Any help would very greatly appreciated.

Need help here! I am trying to find who my grandfather's (Sidney M. Coleman, b. 1/1874) parents were . Know for sure that Sidney and his wife (Emma Harris Coleman ) lived in Mercer Co. My mother (Ada B. Coleman Burks) was born in Tyrone 4/18/1912. They lived inBurgin for a time as she attended school there in the very early grades. They moved to Louisville sometime around 1918-1920. Have heard that Sidney's mother was Rachel Burchell, but am not sure of the Rachel since grandmother's mother was also a Rachel (Rachel Haupt Harris)and the names might have gotten confused as no one now remembers for sure. Sidney was a twin. His brother was Smith (1st name).Any one know anything? i know this family (Coleman) existed somewhere!!
