WAYNESBURG - Delores Adams, 55, of Eubank, died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
She died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born March 6, 1933, in Letcher County, she was a daughter of Cinda Whitaker Adams of Pikeville and the late Crocarr Adams. She was a retired teacher and the widow of the late Rex D. Blair.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonita Blair of Lexington and Madena Blair of Eubank; a brother, Allen K. Adams of Jeremiah; a sister, Angeletta Fields of Pikeville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Ellison Ridge.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until time of service Thursday.

WAYNESBURG - Darwin Ray ``Doc'' Adington, 69, of Eubank, died Sunday at his home.
Born March 9, 1929, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Lonnie and Gertrude Taylor Adington. He as a farmer and a retired employee of the state highway department. He was a member of Mount Moriah Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae McKinney Adington; two sons, Danny R. Adington of Waynesburg and Lanny J. Adington of Eubank; a daughter, Brenda S. Rice of Eubank; a brother, Bobby Adington of Halls Gap; three sisters, Margie Wilhelm of Cincinnati, Ohio, Macelene Stevens of Eubank and Marlene Haggard of Waynesburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parlor Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Troy Roberts, Mike Mullins and Stan Sluder. Burial will be in McKinney Family Cemetery.

STANFORD - Glenn C. Alford, 70, of Springview Drive, Stanford, died Saturday in Stanford. He was the husband of Nancy Miracle Alford. Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 12, 1919, in Wayne County, she was a daughter of the late Judge and Leola Gregory Bell. She was a retired cook at Kings Mountain Elementary and a member of Kings Mountain Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Denver Bell; a son, Norman Bell of Waynesburg; three daughters, Mary Elliott of Waynesburg, Lois Grodi of Erie, Mich., and Katie Ray of Lancaster; two brothers, J.B. Born July 8, 1912, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Maudie Denham.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Bishop; a daughter, Lavonne Ritchie of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Bobby Denham of Stanford and Fred Denham of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Iva Sears of Florence and Nina Durham of Danville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born Jan. 2, 1959, in Rockcastle County, he was a son of Viola Sexton Holdam of Mt. Vernon and the late William E. Bullock Sr. He was a farmer.

She died Monday at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center, Somerset. Born March 28, 1905, in Pulaski County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Ruth Herren Rogers. She was a homemaker and member of Miracle Temple Church. She was the widow of James Herbert Carmack. Survivors include five sons, Elmer, Tommy, Johnny and Orland Carmack, all of Waynesburg, and Charles Carmack of Eubank; three daughters, Carrie Anderson and Alice Carmack of Waynesburg and Lucille Pike of Kings Mountain; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. WAYNESBURG - Willie Tommy Carmack, 55, Estesburg Road, died Saturday at Vencor Hospital, Louisville, as the result of an automobile accident Jan. 1 on U.S. 27 near the Pulaski-Lincoln County line.
Born May 10, 1941, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late James Herbert and Lizzie Mae Rogers Carmack. He was a farmer and a member of Miracle Temple Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include four brothers, Charles Carmack of Eubank, Elmer Carmack, Johnny Carmack and Orlando Carmack, all of Waynesburg; three sisters, Lucille Pike of Kings Mountain, Carrie Anderson and Alice Carmack, both of Waynesburg.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by A.F. Atwood. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews.

CRAB ORCHARD - Cash Franklin Deraine Carpenter, 7, of 1304 Manor Boulevard died Friday from injuries suffered in a traffic accident.
Born Feb. 21, 1990, in Lexington, he was a son of Ricky Carpenter of Richmond and Sonda Fowler of Crab Orchard. He completed the first grade last school year at Crab Orchard Elementary School and enjoyed fishing, swimming and riding his bicycle.
Additional survivors include a brother, Andrew Scott Bruner of Crab Orchard; his step father, Ricky Fowler of Crab Orchard; his former step parents, David Scott and Teresa Bruner of Crab Orchard; five stepbrothers, Rodney Fowler, Ricky Lee Fowler Jr., Travis Fowler, Kelvin Taylor and Mickey Taylor, all of Crab Orchard; a stepsister, Amanda Fowler of Crab Orchard; his maternal grandfather, Albert Hinds of Lancaster; his maternal grandmother, Helen Withrow of Cleveland, Ohio; and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Alma Carpenter of Richmond.
Services will be noon Monday at Crab Orchard Elementary School cafeteria building by the Rev. Stewart Dawson. Burial will be in Richmond Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

WAYNESBURG - William Thomas Case, 70, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Waynesburg, died Tuesday at Community East Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1927, in Elmwood, Ohio, he was a son of the late Forest L. and Edith F. Humphries Case. He was an owner and operator of Vans Tavern for 30 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of United Midget Racing Association for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Spaw Case; and a sister, Shirley Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio.

WAYNESBURG - Amanda Ann Bastin Caudill, 97, of Ware Road, died Friday at Stanford House Nursing Home in Stanford.
Born Aug. 18, 1899, in Mount Olive, Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Mary Elizabeth Godbey Bastin. She was a homemaker who specialized in quilt-making and a member of Mount Olive Christian Church. She was the widow of Matthew Caudill. She was predeceased by two sons, Otha Ray Caudill and Franklin D. Caudill.
Survivors include five daughters, Edna Mae Ware and Deva Jean Jones, both of Waynesburg, Effie Marie Sims of Kings Mountain, Mary Nancy Moore of Cincinnati and Darlena B. Broady of Litchfield, Minn.; one brother, John Quincy Bastin of Mount Olive; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by Mike Roberts and the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery, Casey County.

CLOVERDALE, Ind. - Chester J. Cornett, 73, of Eminence, Ind., died Sunday at Putnam County Hospital.

Born July 18, 1931, in Letcher County, he was the son of the late John D. and Cinda L. Cornett. He was a metal finisher at Chevrolet Truck and Bus, farmer, employee of Chrysler Corp., and ice cream truck driver. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and the widower of Marvel I. Rowland Cornett.

Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Kleiknight of Yuma, Ariz., Valerie Gruener of Fillmore, Ind., Kathy Cornett of Indianapolis and Carol Hawkins of Greencastle, Ind.; two sisters, Rosetta Miller of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Jean Munday of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two brothers, Arlie Cornett of Lakeland, Fla., and Arvin Cornett of South Carolina; and seven grandchildren.

Born Oct. 12, 1921, she was a native of Garrard County and daughter of the late Marshal Scott and Rella Ruble Scott Hiatt. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, John C. Dunn of Waynesburg; a son, Stephen Dunn of Somerset; a daughter, Annette Story of Waynesburg; a sister, Jeanette Boone of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Baptist Church, Polly Ann Baptist Church, Eubank, and Freedom Baptist Church, Stanford. He attended Pleasant View Baptist Church, Waynesburg.

Born Jan. 7, 1913, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Armilda Rice Hendrickson. He was a former employee of Bob Saylor Grocery Store and a farmer. He was the widower of Lucy Mae Merida Hendrickson.

She died Saturday at Lexington Country Place.
Born April 10, 1900, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Letcher Owsley and Hallie Hamilton Owsley Dunlap. She was a retired teacher and librarian, having received degrees from Transylvania University and University of Kentucky. She taught at Lexington's Junior High School and Henry Clay High School.
She was a member of Friends of the Lexington Public Library, the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation, the Northside Association and the Womans Club of Central Kentucky, and Colonial Dames of America. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Beta Phi Mu, Delta Kappa Gamma, honorary fraternities. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, Circle Chairman and Sunday School teacher.
Owsley was a niece of Governors Letcher and Owsley and a great-niece of William Whitley, owner of the first brick house in Kentucky, now a state historic site.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy D. Pinson of Ft. Myers, Fla. Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 6, 1922, in Hustonville and was the widower of Clara A. Randolph.

MORELAND - Douglas L. Reed, 48, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Campbellsville, died Wednesday at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Born Jan. 28, 1949, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Lee and Maulsey Followell Reed. He was an employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for 25 years and a member of Robertson Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.

MORELAND - Elmer Thomas Russell, 52, of Hustonville died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, after a long illness.
Born May 5, 1946, in Casey County, he was a son of Bessie Hafley Russell of Hustonville and the late Thomas S. Russell. He was a retired employee of AllTel Telephone Co. of Shepherdsville and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include his wife, Le Verne Maples Russell; a son, Randall S. Russell of Hustonville, a stepson, Timothy Pendygraft of Danville; a brother, Clay Gilbert Russell of Hustonville; four sisters, Velma Douglas of Harrodsburg, Vivian Allison of Gallatin, Tenn., Mary Ann Reeves of Danville and Helen Vanoy of Junction City; and a stepgrandson.

Services for Robert C. Russell, a founding member of the local Human Rights Commission, 71, of Madison Avenue, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home by the Revs. Tim Mathis and Doug Sharon. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery with military rites.
Russell, 71, of Madison Avenue died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
``I'm going to miss him,'' said Boyle County Judge-Executive Tony Wilder. ``Robert always had the public in mind. He tackled two tough jobs when he allowed himself to be appointed to the Human Rights Commission and Board of Adjustments.''
Russell was a member of the Board of Adjustments at the time of his death. Earlier this year, Russell resigned from the Human Rights Commission. He was a founding member of that commission.
Russell served on the Danville Central Labor Council and was past president and past political director of the local chapter of Communication Workers of America. Russell volunteered at the Danville-Boyle County Senior Citizen Center, was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and was active in the Democratic Party. He was Kentucky Colonel.
``He was a person who was very interested in being a good citizen,'' said Wilder. ``He showed he really cared about the worker.''
Russell was retired from BellSouth where he had been a toll test-board operator. He was a part-time cattle farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Broadway, and had served on their personnel committee. He was a graduate of Parksville High School.
Born July 26, 1917, in Stanford, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Ellen Marcene Newsom Russell.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Crain Russell; a son, David C. Russell of Graham, N.C.; two daughters, Joyce Caskey of Dickson, Tenn., and Sandy Underwood of Dallas; two sisters, Mildred McLeod of Houston and Marilyn J. Lampkin of Louisville; and five grandchildren.

Born June 25, 1909, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Scott Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Cartersville Holiness Church. She was the widow of John Saylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Gerene Rider of Crab Orchard and Bessie Pingleton of Berea; four sons, Woodrow Saylor, Franklin D. Saylor, Andrew J. Saylor and David Saylor, all of Crab Orchard; a sister, Renda Neace of Louisiana; 26 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, A.J. Saylor, and three daughters, John-Iva Guin, Thelma Pingleton and Geneva Saylor.

He died Friday at his home from an apparent drug overdose, according to Lincoln County Coroner Bill Demrow. Demrow said he based his determination of Taylor's death on preliminary results of an autopsy.
Born March 18, 1967, in Sidney, Ohio, he was a son of Donald and Martha Cook Taylor of Versailles. He was a journeyman plumber for Green Mechanical Co., Lexington, and a member of McKinney Baptist Church.
