CRAB ORCHARD - Services for James Franklin Adams, 64, of Stanford, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by the Rev. Kaywood Morris. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18 of the American Legion.

Born May 30, 1942, in Crab Orchard, he was a son of the late James F. and Dollie Ballard Adams. He was a self-employed truck driver and an Army veteran. He was a member of the Baptist church and America Legion Post 345 in Stanford.

Survivors include his wife, Carlyene Owens Adams; a son, Franklin L. Dyehouse of Crab Orchard; three stepchildren, Jeffery Cummins of Stanford, Cindy Allen of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Dianna Cummins of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Iola L. Mathes and Betty E. Asher, both of Indianapolis, and Otherene McCain of Frankfort; two grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.

CRAB ORCHARD - Lillie G. Harness Adams, 90, of Highland Heights, died Saturday at St. Luke East Hospice in Fort Thomas.

Born April 15, 1916, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William and Lula Brown Harness. She was a retired cashier for Albers Supermarket in Newport, a member of Summit Church of Christ and the widow of John Adams.Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Holt of Alexandria; two sons, James Adams of Cold Spring and Michael Adams of Alexandria; two sisters, Violet Kane of Burbank, Calif., and Lucille Major of Florence; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.Services will be 7:30 p.m. today at Summit Church of Christ in Cold Spring with visitation 6-7:30 p.m. today.A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Church of Christ in Crab Orchard. McKnight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lillie Adams, had strong faith.If there was a church service or a church function, you could count on Lillie G. Adams."She went Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night and attended all the functions they had," said her daughter, Shirley Holt of Alexandria. "Anything to do with the church, she was involved in."

Mrs. Adams, 90, of Highland Heights, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.She was a retired cashier at Albers Super Market in Newport.Mrs. Adams was a member of Garrard Street Church of Christ in Covington and later a member of Summit Church of Christ in Cold Spring.She taught Sunday School for more than 30 years at the Garrard Street church and never missed church until she became ill with cancer in June.

"Her faith was very strong and helped her while she went through her illness," said her daughter. "Church members visited her and read the Bible to her and sang hymns to her and prayed with her and that encouraged her a lot."In turn, a lot of people got strength from her and her faithfulness to the church. Mrs. Adams loved to be around people."She was very people-oriented," said her daughter. "She was always really friendly with everybody and was always one of the first to get acquainted with new people who came to church."She was very family-oriented and loved to see her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially loved children. During World War II, she was a substitute school teacher and taught third and fourth grade in Lincoln County, Ky."Mrs. Adams enjoyed writing, and kept journals. She was a prolific greeting card sender."She had two birthday parties on her 90th birthday on April 15th and loved every minute of it," said her daughter."She was a lady and she always dressed like a lady - every hair in place and no wrinkles in any of her clothing. She put a lot of us to shame."She was a very special mom. I'm the oldest child and now I don't know who I'm going to talk to at 9 o'clock every morning."Mrs. Adams' husband of 56 years, John Adams, died in 1992.

Other survivors include two sons, James Adams of Cold Spring and Michael Adams of Alexandria; two sisters, Violet Kane of Burbank, Calif., and Lucille Major of Florence; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Summit Church of Christ, 6015 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring. Lillian Addington, 83, of Walton, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital, Ft. Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Walton Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Mary Jo Mitchell of Walton and Louise Bryant of Flemingsburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. William Lloyd Anderson, 66, of Danville, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born October 21, 1939 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Gentry and Katherine Upton Anderson. He was a self-employed Maintenance Worker, had worked at Bright’s Bottled Gas, Shakertown, and most recently had managed the Keene Lodge Motor Inn in Versailles. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with friends and family and making people laugh.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter Kelly Anderson of Stanford, one granddaughter Victoria Rose Lunsford and one grandson Caleb Lunsford both of Stanford. One brother Morris Anderson of Alexandria, two nieces, and several cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his son Anthony “Bill” Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg is in charge of arrangements.

LANCASTER - Laverne ``Granny Pop'' Ball, 89, Highland Avenue, died Sunday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born July 31, 1907, in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Arthusa Gooch Chandler. She was a former teacher, having taught at Mance, Crab Orchard and Broughtontown schools. She was the oldest member of Paint Lick Presbyterian Church and the widow of Woods Ball.
Survivors include a daughter, Audrey Whittaker of Lancaster; a son, Woody Ball of Stanford; a brother, W.L. Chandler of Lancaster; two sisters, Elizabeth Childs and Lyda Bower, both of Lancaster; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Jim Cook and Bryce McGowan. Burial will be in Paint Lick Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James W. Ball, Robbie Long, Charles Isaacs, Eddie Carter, Kenneth Gooch and James W. Hicks.
Honorary pallbearers are Ashley L. Ball, Kelly L. Isaacs, Amy W. Long, Anthony J. Ball, Allyssa R. Ball, Colton Isaacs, Helen Ward and Oma F. Hicks.

Born April 27, 1956, in Chicago, Ill., she was a daughter of the late James and Lorraine Carlson White. She worked at R.R. Donnelley as a material handler.

Survivors include a son, Donald H. Ball III of Goldsboro, N.C.; her companion, Brett Lane of Stanford; six brothers, Johnny L. Sullivan of Manhattan, Ill., Joel Sullivan of Chicago, David McAdams of Faribault, Minn., Michael White of Crestwood, Ill., Timothy White of Little Rock, Ark., and Thomas White of Wilmington, Ill.; and two sisters, Candace Brewer and Cheryl McAdams, both of Houston, Ark. STANFORD - Darrell Barrett, 57, of Stanford, died today at Fort Logan Hospital. He was the husband of Wanda Barrett. Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.

Allene BARNHART, age 85 of Lebanon passed peacefully Tuesday evening, August 15, 2006 at Lebanon Country Manor. Born September 24, 1920, in Crab Orchard, KY the daughter of Edward and Ida (Parker) Johnson, she was a life long resident of Warren County.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Curtis Leroy Barnhart; brothers, Lloyd, Bert and Jim Johnson; sisters, Rhoda Kelly, Lucille Salyers, Goldie Hamblin and Marie Johnson, she is survived by loving daughters, Anna Collins of TN and Louise Harrison of S.C. and brother, Ora Johnson of Mason; grandchildren, Rod Poppe of Lebanon, Paul Poppe, Carl and Mark Collins, all of TN, Ginger Boult of Colorado, Amy Pacana and Todd Harrison, both of PA; great-grandchildren, Shannon Shearer, Sabrina McKay, Jacque, Stephanie and A.J. MORELAND - Grace Godbey Bell, 93, of Radcliff, died Saturday at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown.
Born March 4, 1905, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Richard B. and Margaret Godby Godbey. She was a homemaker, a member of the Methodist Church and the widow of William E. Bell.
Survivors include a son, Don Bell of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Billie Terrell of Louisville, Joan Whelan of Brandenburg and Janet Downey of Radcliff; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Bell.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Watts. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Madgaline Brown, 86, of Eaton, OH, died August 12, 2006, at Liberty Matrix in Oxford, OH. Born February 16, 1920, in Waynesburg, KY, she was the daughter of Hugh and Bertha (Sowders) Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Luther, on January 27, 2000.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Roberts of Morning Sun, OH, and Peggy (George) Wiegand of Eaton OH; eight grandchildren, Roland L. (Vicky) Roberts Jr., Debra A. (Ken) Olterman, Dan D. Born June 13, 1908, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Leoma Catron Broyles. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, a Baptist, and the widow of Samuel Fritz. Survivors include local cousins, Cheryl Rodgers of Casey County and Bill Catron of Lincoln County. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.

CRAB ORCHARD - Hazel Brummett Bryant, 85, of Mount Vernon, died today at her home.

Born March 20, 1921, in Brodhead, she was a daughter of the late John and Ada Brock Brummett. She was a member of Faith Independent Church in Berea and the widow of William Henry Bryant.

Survivors include four sons, Lester Bryant, Wesley Bryant and David Bryant, all of Crab Orchard, and Lesley Bryant of Richmond; five daughters, Arlene Irvin and Kathleen Denny, both of Brodhead, and Irene Bishop, Wilmaleen Singleton and Sheila Downs, all of Mount Vernon; 44 grandchildren; 117 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at McKnight Funeral Home by Tim McClure and Jerry Denny. Burial will be in Negro Creek Cemetery, Brodhead.

Shirley Marie Carson Burnside, 72, of Lancaster, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born April 12, 1931, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Irene Higgins Carson. She was a member of St. Paul Presdestinarian Baptist Church in Lancaster and was church secretary, president of the Usher Board and a member of Women's Department of Tates Creek Baptist Association. She was the widow of Virgil Burnside Sr.

Survivors include three daughters, Ernestine Burnside, Lois West and Shirl Burnside, all of Lancaster; two sons, Virgil Burnside of Berea and Wesley Burnside of Danville; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Predestinarian Church by the Rev. Barry Bowman. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church. Smith-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Virgil L. Charlton, 48, Newport, died of a heart attack Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East. He was a driver for Leon Baker Trucking Co.

Survivors include his wife Charlene Studer-Charlton; a son, Michael J. Charlton of Stanford; daughters, Michele Charlton of Oregon and Kathryn Charlton of Newport, his father, Paul Charlton of Henley, Calif; and his mother, Ada Ashley of Indianapolis.

Services wer Saturday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Burial was Sunday at Pleasant Point Cemetery, Kings Mountian, Ky.

STANFORD - Services for Ernest Ray "Ernie" Coleman, 71, of Fairfield, Ohio, will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Travis Farris. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Born Oct. 27, 1934, in Yosemite, he was a son of the late Ernest and Ora Lanham Coleman. He was a delivery driver and Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife, Shirlie Smith Coleman; a daughter, Britta J. Coleman of Nashville, Tenn.; a son Edwin R. Coleman of Fairfield, Ohio; a brother, Charles Coleman of Hamilton, Ohio; five sisters, Dorothy Brown of Somerset, Vivian Black of Yosemite, Betty Moran of Kings Mountain, Peggy Combs of Danville and Polly Durham of Yosemite; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

MORELAND - Barbara Ann Reeves Cooper, 66, of Hustonville, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born June 13, 1940, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Herman Lewis and Naomi Campbell Reeves. She was a homemaker and a member of Hustonville Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cooper.

Additional survivors include three sons, David Cooper of Danville, Jeffrey Cooper of Moreland and Mark Christopher Cooper of Louisville; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hustonville Christian Church by Don Burton. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy, David, Jeffrey and Mark Cooper, Scotty Robinson, Paul Hackney, Allen Goggin and Don Warner.

Graveside services for Lillian Imogene Allen Cox, 80, of Lexington Center for Health and Rehabilitation, formerly of Danville , will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hustonville Cemetery by the Rev. Don Benningfield. She died Saturday.

Born March 6, 1923, in Ellisburg, she was the daughter of the late Winfield S. and Lilly Ann Purdom Allen. She was a teacher in an Ellisburg one-room school and a homemaker, and a member of Ellisburg United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Forkland High School and Lindsey Wilson College, and attended University of Kentucky. She was the widow of Merrill Cox.

Survivors include a sister, Manelle Cox of Lexington. There will be no visitation. Memorials may go to Alzheimer's Foundation. Stith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Travis Lee Devine, 24, of 6450 Highway 2141, Hustonville, died Sunday, October 18, 1998 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Born April 16, 1974 in Mercer County, he was the son of Omer Leon and Pamela Gayle Sallee Devine of Harrodsburg.

He was a mechanic for Phillips Lighting and a graduate of Mercer County High School where he was on the basketball and football team.

He was a member of the Dry Branch Baptist Church and attended the Bowen Methodist Church in Lincoln County.

Survivors other than his parents include: his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Sallee of Harrodsburg; one sister, Tracy Lynn Devine of Danville . He was preceded in death by two brothers Randall Leon Devine and Andy Lee Devine; one sister, Betty Ann Devine; paternal grandparents George A. and Laura Elizabeth Devine and maternal grandfather Rue Sallee.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 21, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Walter officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

STANFORD – Charles Willard Dunn, 85, of Goshen Road, died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Jan. 4, 1913 in Corbin, He was a son of the late Alexander S. and Dora B. McFadden Dunn. He was a retired brick mason, a member of the Baptist Church and Brick Layers Union 17. He was an Army veteran of Would War II.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Wilson Bray Dunn; a son, Charles W. Dunn of Stanford; a daughter, Sylvia L. Dunn of Darmstadt, Germany; a brother John Dunn of Waynesburg; and a granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Friday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Cecil Roundtree. Visitation will be 6 – 9 p.m., Thursday at Fox Funeral Home.

CRAB ORCHARD - Ruby Lee Johnson Egner, 78, of South Shore, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Friday at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Born Jan. 6, 1928, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William and Addie Poynter Johnson. She was a former employee of Butler Furniture in Carrollton.

Survivors include her husband, Junior B. Egner of South Shore; three sons, Edward Egner of Portsmouth, Hubert Egner of Decatur, Texas, and William Egner of Cleum, Wash.; a daughter, Gracie Lee Norton of Connersville, Ind.; two brothers, Cecil Johnson of Crab Orchard and William Johnson Jr. of Lancaster; a sister, Margaret Goins of Waynesburg; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Rev. Charles Edward Graves, 83, of 2319 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, died Saturday, May 12 at the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville. A native of Salem, MA., he was born December 13, 1906 to the late James Graves and Sadie Steeves Graves. He was a retired Baptist minister and a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. He was the widower of Hattie Gehring Graves. He held previous church positions at Emmanuel Baptist church in Monticello, Burnside Baptist Church, Burnside, Somerset-Duke Memorial Baptist Church, Somerset and New Salem Baptist Church in McKinney.

STANFORD -William Roy Hastie, 69, of Stanford, died Tuesday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

Born May 4, 1934, in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Roy and Sadie Wearen Hastie. He was the former owner and operator of Capco Corp. and director of Kentucky Wholesale Association. He was a farmer and was named an Honorary Chapter Farmer in Lincoln County. He was a member and elder of Stanford Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Hammons Hastie; two sons, William W. "Billy" Hastie of Stanford, and Tom Hastie of Danville; a daughter, Janie Marie Hastie of Stanford; and four grandchildren.

Born April 5, 1950, in Stanford, he was the son of the late Earl D. and Artie Mae Wright Horton.He was a minister with Geneva Baptist Church and formerly with Indian Creek Baptist Church in Casey County.He was former operator of Horton's Grocery and was a bus driver with the Lincoln County school system.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Rector Horton; two daughters, Chelsea L. Horton of Stanford and Artie Ruth Horton Cook of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Gary Horton of Danville; three sisters, Bonnie Caldwell and Joanne Cornett, both of Danville, and Betty Lou Singleton of Lancaster.

Frances G. HULSEY, age 84 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 9:13 AM. She was born in Moreland, Kentucky on February 27, 1922 the daughter of Bourbon and Tilda (Waires) Galloway.

Frances was employed as an LPN at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. She was a member of Timberhill Baptist Church and a charter member of UMWA. On June 20, 1942 in Pineville, Kentucky she married Ruby F. Hulsey, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by one son, Roy E. Hulsey of Hamilton; one daughter, Patricia Hulsey Bourassa of Montreal, Canada; two brothers, Ray Galloway and his wife Mae and Carl Galloway, both of Hamilton; three sisters, Essie Mae Guy of Carlton, Michigan, Ruby Hensley of Corbin, Kentucky, and Alma Sandefur of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Robert E. Bourassa, Roy E. Hulsey Jr., and Marcel Bourassa; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Valarie, Sebastian, Mathieu, and Desiree; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

SMITHFIELD, VA. – Curtis Plummer, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in Norfolk, Va. He was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late Thelma Spears Plummer and James Alfred Plummer. He was retired after 30 years of service with the Norfolk Naval Communications Center as the Civilian Electronics Maintenance Officer. He was a member of Norview Masonic Lodge No. 113, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Shrine Temple, Optimist Club of Wards Corner, where he served on the Board of Directors, and was a former board member and president of the Gatling Point South Homeowners Association. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

MORELAND - Lisa Marie Southerland Robinson, 43, of Maxey's Valley community, died Thursday at Central Baptist Hospital.

Born Feb. 25, 1961, in Danville , she was the daughter of Evelyn Carey Southerland of Stanford and the late Delbert L. Southerland. She was an employee of Admart Custom Signs in Danville and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Lincoln County High School and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Other survivors include her husband, David W. Robinson; two sons, Brandon and Kevin Robinson, both of Maxey's Valley; and two brothers, Randy Southerland of Stanford and Keith Southerland of Danville.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Chuck Robinson. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Born Oct. 19, 1941, in Crab Orchard, he was a son of the late George C. and Malinda E. Mullins Saylor. He as an assistant professor at University of Cincinnati and a veteran.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Waters of Dayton, Ky.; a sister, Mary S. Saylor of Cincinnati; three brothers, Ewell Saylor of Fort Thomas, Solomon Saylor of Atlanta and Orville Saylor of Cincinnati; and a grandson. Visitation will be after noon Monday.

STANFORD - Services for Bessie Sharpensteen, 91, of Floral Hills, Mich., formerly of Stanford, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Born Aug. 30, 1912, in Oneida, she was the daughter of the late Blev and Cora Dezoun McCollum. She was a member of Stanford Baptist Church and the widow of Lee Sharpensteen.

Survivors include two sons, Russell Singleton of Detroit, Mich., and Bill Singleton of Wetherford, Texas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

MORELAND - Richard Wayne Smith, 62, of Moreland, died Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington.

Born Aug. 12, 1941, in Mount Salem, he was the son of Ruby Vincent Smith of Mount Salem and the late Arnold "Cotton" Smith. He was a bus driver for the Lincoln County schools and owned and operated Smith Hauling Co. He was a member of Moreland Christian Church.

Other survivors include his wife, Betty Benedict Smith of Moreland; a daughter, Jeannie G. Hurst of Lancaster; two stepdaughters, Donna Martin of Lexington and Karen Brown of Pee Wee Valley; a sister, Jeannie Norris of Lexington; a brother, Gary Smith of New Salem; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moreland Christian Church by the Revs. David Smith and Don Burton. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Born Dec. 28, 1945, in Rockcastle County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Gertrude Hasty.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene "Red" Sparkman; two brothers, E.J. Hasty of Lancaster and Billy Hasty of Mount Vernon; and three sisters, Ruth Rucker, Joyce and Mary Hasty. No service is planned.

Born Jan. 9, 1943, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Ike and Effie Moore Naylor. She was a longtime employee of Piggly Wiggly in Danville and a volunteer at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of Willis Green Stringer.

She was preceded in death by four sons, Bill and Jimmy Stringer, Oris and Ronnie Naylor; and a daughter, Mary Ann Griffin.

Roy Lee Sutherland, 79, of Danville Pike, Stanford, died Friday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
Born March 1, 1919, in Meade County, he was the son of the late Albert B. and Ada Lee Brown Sutherland. He was a retired Sergeant First Class with the Army and had been owner and operator of Roy's Garage in Midway. He served as a member of the American Legion and belonged to Hustonville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Aleena Margaret Clements Sutherland; two daughters, Ellen Ada Sutherland of Hodgenville and Viola Lee Delaigle of Fairbanks, Alaska; one brother, Alfred Sutherland of Payneville, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Goetsch of Sherman, Texas, and Leona Frans of Leavenworth, Texas; and three grandchildren,.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Nimmo. Burial with military rites by the Fort Knox Honor Guard will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

James Byford Taylor, 76, of Danville, the widower of Peggy Taylor, died Thursday, May 27.

He was a self employed builder. He was the son of James Hollie and Reva Mae Phillips Taylor, born in Harrodsburg on July 18, 1927.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonita Kaye Taylor Bennett and her husband, Larry; three brothers, Connely, Norris and Carlton Taylor of Lexington; three sisters, Arlene Combs, Rita Mason and Phyllis Rambo; two grandchildren, Margo Purchase and James Taylor; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sammy Jo, Justin, Meleina and Ashley.

WAYNESBURG - Flora Emeline Tolley, 89, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday at her home.

Born Dec. 18, 1916, in Pulaski County, she was a daughter of the late Henderson and Ophelia Dick Hines. She was a homemaker, a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and the widow of Carl Tolley.

Born April 24, 1940, in Pleasant Point, he was the son of the late Woodrow "Woody" Wilson and Leona R. Fields Watts. He was a retired carpenter and served with the U.S. Marines during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Survivors include his companion, Betty Roberts of Stanford; two sons, Gary Ray Watts of Berea and Steve Watts of Indianapolis; a daughter, Theresa Holman of Yukon, Okla.; two brothers, David Watts of Stanford and Wade Watts of Kings Mountain; and five sisters, Gwen Hawk and Denise Jenkins, both of Stanford, Deanie Snow of Kings Mountain, Joanne Greer of Tampa, Fla., and Sally Miller of Waynesburg.

Born May 20, 1941, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Bessie L. McCowan Wilder of Stanford and the late Otto Wilder. He was a serviceman for 36 years for InterCounty RECC and a farmer. He was a sergeant with the Army Reserve and a member of Moreland Christian Church. He was a graduate of Hustonville High School and attended Berea College.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Eldridge Wilder; a daughter, Lara Wilder Minton of Knoxville, Tenn.; two stepsons, Jason Johnson of Danville and Kevin Johnson of Louisville; two brothers, Carl Wilder of Mount Salem and James Earl Wilder of Hustonville; two sisters, Josephine Dixon of Blandchester, Ohio, and Alsie Napier of Stanford; and three grandchildren.

Mattie Mae Wilkerson, 91, of Danville, died Tuesday at Charleston Health Care Center.

Born May 18, 1913, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John and Mattie Penman.

She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Stanford. She was the widow of Vonnie Wilkerson.

Survivors include a son, Joe Cecil Masterson of Stanford; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Born Jan. 27, 1927, in Waynesburg, he was a son of the late Rosezetta Emerson Williams. He was an electrical engineer for University of Louisville Speed Scientific School. He also was an Army veteran of World War II, having served as a sergeant with the 76th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop. He was an elder of Mount Olive Christian Church.
