Clinton Arvis Abbott, 83, of 125 Saylor Road died Saturday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.
Born Dec. 2, 1913, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late John Washington and Cora Larkin Abbott. He was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church and was
a retired farmer. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel Margaret Scott Abbott, and a daughter, Anna Mae Black.

Survivors include his wife, Chesnie Saylor Abbott; a daughter, Geneva Ruth Sandlin of Berea; a brother, Shelva Abbott of Highland Heights;
two sisters; Marie Smith and Velma Acton, both of Eubank; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Pulaski County.
Pallbearers will be Doug Sandlin, Michael Sandlin, Shawn Clayton, Lawrence Hacker, Wayne Black and Ronnie Hacker.

Killed by Train: John D. Anderson, who used to live in the East End of this county, was run over and killed by a train in the Paris yards Wednesday morning.
He was 38 years old and is survived by his wife, who was a Miss Johnson of Rockcastle, and five children. The remains were brought to Rowland yesterday afternoon and
from there were taken to Goshen and Buried. Deceased was a brother of Mr. B. C. Anderson of Brodhead.

Services for Forester "Frog" Azbill, 67, of McKinney will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Green River Pentecostal Church by Rick Naylor, Billy Brown

and Ed Carman. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. He died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 11, 1935, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Oscar "Roy" and Lula Johnson Azbill. He was a self-employed mechanic and former

employee of Coleran Dodge in Cincinnati and Lexington Dodge. He was a member of Green River Pentecostal Church and had played rhythm guitar at the church

Survivors include his wife, Mae Brown Azbill; a daughter, Teana Brummett of Hustonville; a sister, Geneva Hammonds of Sand Gap; two grandchildren; two

great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Marlon, Jimmy and Keith Tillett, Dale Crowley, Lonnie

Brown and Don Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Walls, Keith Smith, Bobby Wilcher, Dale Reed, Orville Polston and Russell Brown.

Essie Hatchel Bastin, 88, of the New Salem community in Lincoln County, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Tuesday, September 30, 1924 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Winford H. & Mary Jane Spaulding Hatchel. She was the widow of the late William David Bastin, who preceded her in death on November 4, 1996. Essie was a member of Geneva Baptist Church and worked as a cook for 20 years at McKinney Elementary School.

Essie leaves behind one son, David M. Bastin (Judy) of Danville; one daughter, Linda Carol Sears (Junior) of Hustonville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dixie Lee Smith; four brothers; and four sisters.

A Visitation will be held 6-9PM Friday, March 29, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home. A Second Visitation will be held 10AM-1PM Saturday, March 30, 2013 at New Salem Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 1PM at the church with Bro. Jared Moore officiating the service. Burial will follow at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Helen Ruth Foley Berry, 67, of Stanford, KY died March 17, 2013 in Lexington, KY. She was born March 25, 1945 in Lincoln County, KY to the late Chester and Susie Katherine Hazlett Foley. The oldest of twelve children, she was a homemaker, the widow of the late Carl Gene Berry, and mother to all who loved her.

Survivors include three daughters; Jeanie Berry, Joanie House, and Ruthie Crawley (Bobby) all of Stanford, KY, Four sisters; Gracie Crawley (Eddie) of Lancaster, KY, Linda Griffin, Connie Coppage (Bruce), and Edna Raider all of Stanford, KY, nine grandchildren; Aron Berry, Billy Crawley, Travis Crawley, Rodney Berry, Cameron House, Conner Mullins, Holly House, Helen Yocum, Maranda Crawley, Six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Four brothers; Ernie, Ricky, David, and Ronnie Foley, and Three sisters; Bonnie Scharbrough, Daisy Foley, and Iona Huffman.

There will be a one day service on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Public visitation will be from 12-2pm and funeral service will begin at 2pm with Jason Coulter officiating. Agnes Marie Binder, 87, passed Thursday, February 4, 2010 in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Resident of Ponte Verda Beach, Florida
Agnes was born March 28, 1922 in Kings Mountain, Kentucky to parents Harvey and Ellen Dishon.

Agnes came to Jacksonville in 1955 from Covington, Kentucky. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.

Agnes is preceded in death by her first husband Richard Charles Harbert in 1951 and her husband of 28 years Anthony Binder, died 1984.

Agnes is survived by her children Ronald Harbert, Joan Bennett, Marie Ulvi, one brother Sirgues Dishon (Esther) and sister Virginia Behymer.

Mr. Arthur Lee Bishop, age 59 of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday, Apr. 17 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Lincoln Co., KY on Aug. 22, 1944 the son of Willie E. and Ethel Wilson Bishop.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Bryant Bishop; his mother, Ethel Bishop of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Michael Bishop (Vickie) and Shannon Bishop, both of Lebanon, IN; five daughters, Rita Barnett (James) of Fayetteville, NC, Hazel Downs (Gregory) and Paula Bishop, both of Norwood, OH, and Pamela Bishop and Hope Bishop, both of Mt. Vernon; eight brothers, Dexter Bishop and Carlas Bishop, both of Lebanon, IN, Jerry Bishop and Randy Bishop, both of Danville, IN, Coy Bishop of Whitestown, IN, Steve Bishop and Perry Bishop, both of Mt. Vernon, and Cleve Bishop of Michanicsburg, IN; and three sisters, Laverlle Pugh of Mt. Vernon, Susie Denson of Crab Orchard, and Judy Brummett of Brodhead.

Mary Margaret "Margie" Braley, 90 of Crab Orchard, passed away Tuesday, March 5th, at her home. She was the widow of John Daniel Braley who preceded her in death on October 3, 1999. Margie was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on April 11, 1922. She was a daughter of the late Abe Harrison Brown & Susie (Barker) Brown. Margie was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Edwin (Jewell) Braley, Dwight Douglas (Phyllis) Braley and Danny (Margaret) Braley, all of Crab Orchard; four brothers, Joseph, Shirl, Jasper and Frank Brown; and four sisters, Dovie New, Glenda Campbell, Sadie Carr and Rabeena Gilbert; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Braley, and sisters, Vivian Brown and Edith Thompson.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Mark Raulerson. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Bennie D. Boone Bullock, 90, of Palm City, Florida, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013. Born Tuesday, August 29, 1922 in Somerset, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin
& Sallie Bogie Boone. On February 24, 1945, she married Lonnie Bullock. After they married, they resided in Indiana from 1946 until January 2012, when they moved to Florida.

Bennie leaves behind two sons and their wives, Robert & Janice Bullock of Palm City, Florida and David & Janine Bullock of Osprey, Florida; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Bullock of Los Angeles,
California (daughter of Robert & Janice).

Lonnie Bullock, age 92, of Palm City, Florida, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. Born September 16, 1920, in Public, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Robert & Louisa Bullock. On February 24, 1945, he married Bennie D. Boone Bullock. After they married, they resided in Indiana from 1946 until January 2012, when they moved to Florida.

Lonnie leaves behind two sons and their wives, Robert & Janice Bullock of Palm City, Florida and David & Janine Bullock of Osprey, Florida; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Bullock of Los Angeles, California (daughter of Robert & Janice).

Donald Joseph Cain, 78 of Stanford went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2013. Born June 19, 1934, he was the son of the late Leonard Earl and Erie Estes Cain. He was a farmer in the Turnersville community, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a faithful Christian. He was a member of the Moreland Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Coleen Lawrence Cain; son, Joe (Joan) Cain of Springfield; daughter, Judy (Darrell) White of Waddy; and seven grandchildren: Jon-Michael, Jordan, Joseph, and Josh Cain and Austin (Evelyn), Adam and Rachel White.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Kelley and Madaline Durham. Services will be at 12 noon, Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Rev. Aaron Snelling and Rev. David Smith with burial in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are nephews: Steve Kelley, George B. Elliott and Brian Singleton and grandsons.

Maj. Aubrey L. Carpenter, Jr. USAR (Ret) 89, formerly of Danville, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in Columbia, SC. Born in Meridian, Miss., he was the son of the late Aubrey L. Carpenter, Sr. and Sarah George Carpenter.

After high school, Aubrey joined the United States Air Corps where he was a B-17 Pilot in Germany during WWII. He received his wings in 1944 and went on to join the Army National Guard in 1946 serving for 22 years until his retirement. Maj. Carpenter was a 1952 graduate of Centre College. He received his CLU in Insurance and retired as Vice President of Investors Heritage Life Insurance Company of the South in 1989.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Pearl Smith Carpenter, sons; Dennis W. Carpenter of Lexington, Ky., Keith W. Carpenter of Corpus Christi, TX and Sam J. Yater of Hilton Head, SC., daughters; Tammy L. Carpenter and Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter, both of Columbia, SC, four grandchildren, two brothers; George C. (Carol) Carpenter of Greensboro, NC., William L (Nell) Carpenter of Chattanooga, TN., a sister; Gloria C. Prince of Sacramento, CA and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille C. Allen.

The funeral service will be Saturday, 2 pm at Stith Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Hustonville Cemetery.

Robert Charles Collins Sr., 78, of Hustonville, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013.

Born Jan. 10, 1935, in Jackson, he was the son of the late John L. and Evalee Spencer Collins.

He was a retired coal miner and attended Full Gospel Deliverance Church in Hustonville.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice M. Collins; one son, Robert C. (Rosetta) Collins Jr. of Hustonville; two daughters, Juanita Johnson and Becky Jo (Ronnie) Dobson, both of Hustonville; five brothers, Herbert Collins of Jackson, B.J. (Josephine) Collins of Ohio, Bill (Shirley) Collins of Elizabethtown; Frank (Gretha) Collins of Berea, and Rex (Dora) Collins of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Dessa Crowe, Timothy Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Crystal Jones, Amanda Johnson, and Stephen, Wayne and Madison Dobson; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Little officiating. Burial to follow in Hustonville Cemetery.

In this place, on last Tuesday evening, of inflammation of the brain, after an illness of over two weeks, Richard G., youngest son of the late Dr. John and Sarah C. Craig, in the ninth year of his age.
He endured great suffering almost uncomplainingly. A good and honest little boy he passed beyond the silent river, to meet on a fairer shore those he loved so well in life.

Died at her residence in this place on 12 February last, Mrs. Sarah C., consort of the late

Dr. John Craig, deceased, in the 46 year of her age, after a long and painful illness of pulmonary consumption.

She leaves a family of five children, two girls and three boys. She had been, for a ????

many years, a member of the Christian Church, and died in the full hope of a blessed immortality. Through all her sufferings, she was uncomplaining, and bore them with that courage and fortitude which a hope in Christ can create.

The orphans left behind have the sweet consolation that their mother who loved them so tenderly in life, is now a saint in glory.

Her funeral was preached at her home, on the evening following, by her beloved pastor Rev. W. L. Williams, of Hustonville, from the text found in the 14th Chapter of Mathew and 12th verse.

A large concourse of friends followed her remains to our cemetery, where they were lain beside her husband.

Eva Louise Crumley, 75, of Nicholasville, Kentucky and wife of William E. Crumley, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She was born August 23, 1937 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, to the late Albert and Fredia Denny Hinds. She was member of Liberty Worship Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

In addition to her husband, Eva is survived by her daughters, Linda Taylor of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Vicky (Robert) Adams of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Darla (Kelly) Bryant of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Gale (Chris) Schlosser of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; sons, Harold Eugene (Janice) Loveless of Woodstock, Kentucky, Danny Leon (Yolanda) Loveless of Lancaster, Kentucky and William Dale (Carmen) Crumley of Nicholasville, Kentucky; sisters, Wanda Whitaker of Lancaster, Kentucky and Alfredia (Claude) Hicks of Athens, Tennessee; brothers, Leonard (Bernice) Hacker of Broseley, Missouri, Ernie (Barbara) Hinds of Lancaster, Kentucky, Russell Hinds of Danville, Kentucky and Joe (Rita) Hinds of Lancaster, Kentucky; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Susie DeBord, 99 years of Cherry Fork, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Christian Care Center in Lancaster, Kentucky.

She was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on May 3, 1913 the daughter of the late Albert and Sally (McGuffey) Dishon.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son; Joe DeBord, five brothers, and five sisters.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Donald of Greensville, South Carolina, Orville and Wilma of Winder, Georgia, and Bobby and Jean DeBord of Goshen, two daughters and son-in-law; Martha Simpson of Stanford, Kentucky and Janice and Gil Moser of Cincinnati, 22 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 4 great - great - grandchildren, 2 great - great - great granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Bradford-Sullivan Chapel in Winchester with Rev. Dan Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Fork Cemetery.

Born March 12, 1949, he was the son of Patricia Foryste Rich Downey of Moreland and the late Thomas Alvin Downey. Tommy was a member of Moreland Christian Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Danny (Jane) Downey, and a sister, Patricia Downey, both of Moreland; as well as cousins, uncles and aunts, including a special aunt, “Aunt Ree” Downey.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. David Smith.

Dorothy Eyvonne Downing was born in Hustonville, Ky., she is the eldest daughter of the late George and Dorothy Coffey. She was 73 years old. She passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012.

She is survived by her children: Maria Robinson and Clyde E. Bertram (Flonnie); grandchildren: Aaron Bertram (Elizabeth) and William G. Robinson; great grandchildren, A' Laysha Robinson and Georgialynn Bertram; brothers: George A. Coffey and Lemuel Coffey (Mildred); sisters: Delores Smith (Walter), Eva Coffey and Donna Massengill and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Delmar Downing; daughter, Nadine Bertram; and sister, Rita Wilkinson.

She was actively involved with her church Second United Methodist Church, North Vernon, Ind. She enjoyed volunteer work in her community especially with Breast Cancer Awareness.

She retired from Cummins Inc. after 30 years of service. Following her retirement, she continued to work with volunteer organizations. But one of her greatest joys was to spend time with her family and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial was in the Monticello Cemetery.

Ulysses Durham, 81, of Florence, Ky., died Monday, March 18, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Covington, Ky.

Born Feb. 4, 1932, in Casey County, Ky., he was a son of the late Carlos and Jennie Perkins Durham. He worked as a chemical operator, retiring from Sun Chemical in 1995 after 29 years. He was a member of Florence Baptist Temple.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Reba “Lotus” Foley Durham of Florence; a son, Wayde Durham (Pat) of Union, Ky.; four brothers, Floyd Durham (Marlene) of Science Hill, Ky., Elwood Durham, Carroll Durham (Marlyn) and Gary Durham (Brenda), all of Somerset, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Durham of Hustonville, Ky.; a grandchild, Trenton Durham (Sarah) of Burlington, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cloyd Durham.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Spurlin Funeral Home. Bro. Arnie Forman will officiate. Burial will be at K.P. Hall Cemetery in Kings Mountain, Ky.

Sandra Englehart, 65, Indianapolis, passed away February 7, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was born October 8, 1947 in Houstonville, Kentucky to Junior Shelton and the late Louise Lane Shelton.

Sandra attended Harry Wood High School in Indianapolis and was a 1966 graduate of House of James Beauty College. She taught at Kay’s Beauty College from 1984 to 1993, and worked at the House of James, Cut Above, Trudy’s and Smiles hair salons. Sandra was a lifelong member of the General Assembly Church of the Firstborn.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 10, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington Street with funeral services Monday at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. Killed by Train Near London: Joseph Gatlett, a brakeman on the coal train fell off between two cars opposite the residence of A. L. Reid yesterday about 3:30 p.m. and
as the car ran over his body it crushed a watch in his pocket. He was picked up brought to the depot by the 4 p. m. passenger. The officers on the train had not missed him.

Shirley Gooch passed away March 28, 2013 at the University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was 73.

Born March 28, 1940 in Casey County, she is the daughter of the late Owen and Ethel Martin Napier. She was a homemaker.

Ida Mae Wyler Gover, 95, of Stanford, KY passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. She was born November 27, 1917 in Crab Orchard, KY to the late Chris and Mathilda Ladamann Wyler. She was the widow of the late Walter J. Gover, the retired owner of Severance's Store in Stanford, KY, and was a member of Stanford Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter; Anna Lee Kirkpatrick of Stanford, KY, one brother; Rudolph Wyler of Stanford, KY, two sisters; Rosa Lee Carrier and Carolyn Helton (Roscoe) both of Stanford, KY, four grandchildren; Diane Poynter (Mike), Tommy Kirkpatrick (Charlotte), Keith Kirkpatrick (Judy), and Michael Kirkpatrick all of Stanford, KY, seven great-grandchildren, a host of great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law; Hugh Kirkpatrick, two brothers; Al and Fred Wyler, and two sisters; Elizabeth Cooper and Margaret Alford.

Mr. Calvin Graybeal of Lincoln County Kentucky died at his father's in this county of dropsy last Saturday after a lingering illness of several months duration.

A native of Kentucky, he moved to San Jose in 1933 and in the Turlock area in 1955.

Margaret Marie Hatcher, 55, of Stanford, KY passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, KY. She was born January 25, 1958 in Paint Lick, KY to the
late Edward and Jenny Poynter Johnson and she was a member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years; Wallace Hatcher of Stanford, KY, three daughters; Rebecca Blansett (Jeremy) of Lancaster, KY, Sarah Gail Crain (Joseph) and Danielle Louise Shearer both of Stanford, KY, her stepmother; Mary Baker, six brothers; Huey Egner, Jason Johnson (Bonnie Sue), Edward Johnson (Denisha), Johnny Johnson (Delita), Joey Johnson (Tammy) all of Lancaster, KY and Marvin Johnson of Stanford, KY, five sisters; Barbara Ball (William Albert) of Honaker, VA, Sherry Baker (Mike), Susan Arnold (John), Meridith Deboard (Bill) all of Lancaster, KY, and Michelle Hollifield (Brad) of Tampa, FL, thirteen grandchildren; Carl, Brook, Tristen, Kiersten, Devon, Gage, Savannah, Austin, Gavin, Nevaeh, Jessica, Kaylee, and Ashley, and several nieces and nephews. Born March 29, 1984, in Danville, she was a daughter of Joseph Harse and Jeanette Phillips Beldon. A 2002 graduate of Boyle County High School, Cortney played soccer, basketball and softball and was voted Funniest Senior. She earned a degree in criminal justice from Eastern Kentucky University. She attended Dorthae Pentecostal Church in Corbin.

Cortney was a beautiful young lady with a great smile and a good sense of humor who lived life to the fullest. She had compassion for others and took time to be a thoughtful and loving friend, wife, daughter and sister. Cortney married the love of her life, Travis Joel Hensley, on Oct. 6, 2012.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by her sister, Ashley (Jason) Moody of Harrodsburg; a brother, Joey R. (Sara) Beldon of Fort Campbell; mother and father-in-law, Larry and Debbie Hensley of Corbin; two sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Darrell) Zilinsky and Megan Renee Hensley, all of Corbin; a niece, Emma Marie Zilinsky; a nephew, Carson Riley Beldon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lorine Young Holderman, 97, of Lexington, formerly of Stanford, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Hospice Care Center at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born Monday, January 24, 1916 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late David E. Young, Sr. & Mary Thompson Young. She was the widow of the late Henry Merritt “Bud” Holderman, who preceded her in death on April 6, 1972.

Lorine was a member of First Church of God on Logan Avenue in Stanford. Throughout her lifetime, she worked at Young’s Grocery in Stanford, an LPN for Fort Logan Hospital, and was a homemaker. In her spare time, she loved painting and gardening. Lorine will always be remembered for thinking of others above herself.

Lorine leaves behind one sister, Ottie Marie Daugherty of Perry, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews; and several great-great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, W.T Young and David E. Young, Jr.; and four sisters, Viola Crotinger, Della Russell, Ada Ellen Young, and Anna Elizabeth Adams.

Elgeva Hilda Husar (nee Boyle), 83, of Amherst, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Amherst, following a brief illness. She was born March 14, 1925 in Moreland, Kentucky where she was raised. She moved to Lorain in 1945 and made her residence there until 1980 when she moved to Amherst.

A graduate of Eastern Kentucky State University, Elgeva used her degree in teaching at Powers Elementary School in Amherst for 20 years, retiring in 1979. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain. Elgeva was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and had traveled extensively worldwide.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Andrew Husar, Jr. and his wife, Carole from Scottsdale, Arizona, and Patrick David Husar and his wife, Jonah from Arlington, Virginia; brother, Hartford Boyle of Stanford, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Michael Andrew Husar, Sr. July 6, 1988; parents, Clarence C. and Amanda Boyle (nee Jones); and brother, Justin Boyle in 1999.

Dora Nicely James, 94, of Stanford, KY passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Stanford, KY. She was born November 18, 1918 in Mount Vernon, KY to the late Ben and Pearl Cromer Nicely. She was the widow of the late Leo James. She worked for American Greetings Inc. for 15 years, managed the Rowland Restaurant for several years, and was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one grandson; Jimmy Horn (Tammy) of Stanford, KY, one great-grandson; Tyler Horn of Stanford, KY, one brother; Willard Nicely of Brodhead, KY, one sister; Doris Blanton of Mount Vernon, KY, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter; Lois Horn, two grandsons, four brothers; Willie, Junior, Ed, and Robert Nicely, and two sisters; Geneva James and Ora Meredith.

The little daughter born a few days ago to Mr. and Mrs. Thurlow W. Jones of the Maywood section, died Saturday and was buried in Buffalo cemetery Sunday afternoon.

Helen Louise Adams Keaton, age 60, of Somerset, passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1948 in Lincoln County, Ky., the daughter of Merna Thomas Adams and the late Warren G. Adams. She worked at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for a number of years and then as a Certified Nurse's Aide at Britthaven of Somerset until her retirement in 2005. She loved gardening and antiques. She was a member of the Somerset Church of Christ.

She is survived by her mother, Merna Adams of Somerset; four daughters, Gina (and Monty) Dockery of Russell Springs, Ky., Lisa (and Billy) Pitman of Nancy, Ky., Kandy (and Ed) Keaton of Hammond, Ind. and Kayce (and Jason) Arthur of Bowling Green, Ky.; a brother, Tommy (and Hilda) Adams of Elyria, Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Christopher and Chad Reynolds, Jessica and Joe Pitman, Jason, Haylee, and Alexandria Keaton.

Preceding her in death was her father, Warren G. Adams; a son, Barry Ray Tucker; and her first husband, James Ray Tucker.

Henry Patton "Pat" Kincaid III, 67, died Saturday, January 5, 2013. Born April 28, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Henry Patton and Mary Emma Baldwin Kincaid. He graduated from Lebanon High School and the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the golf team and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He served in the United States Army Reserve. For 22 years Pat and his wife, Linda, owned Kincaid Furniture in Danville, Ky. and after 1989 he was a manufacturers sales representative for Hickory Hill Furniture Corp. He was twice named the Sales Representative of the Year by Hickory Hill Furniture.

He was a member and former deacon of The Presbyterian Church. Pat was an avid lover of the game of golf and past member of Danville Country Club. He was a past president of the Danville Little League and a former member of the Danville Rotary Club. Pat was loved for his wit, his love of history and genealogy and his realistic point of view. His family was his greatest joy.

Pat is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Carroll Kincaid; a son, Patton (Rebecca) Kincaid of Madison, Mississippi; a daughter, Susan Kincaid (Jay) Powell of St. Mary's, WVA; a sister, Mary Baldwin Johnson of Nashville Tennessee; five grandchildren, Patton and Ella Kincaid of Madison, Ms.; Caroline, Callie, and Claire Powell of St. Mary's, W.VA; nieces and nephews, Callie Johnson, Harrison (Lisa) Johnson, Brian (Dawn) Dausman, Emily (Nick) Austin, Beth (Scott) Martin, Becky (Michael) Blanton and Martha (Jason) Hudson and several great nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Snow Kuske, 73 of Hustonville, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Born Dec. 7, 1939, she was the daughter of Daisy Snow Emerson of Stanford and the late Eddie Lee Snow. In the past, she was a telephone operator in Hustonville and Danville as well as an employee of The Advocate Messenger and The City of Danville. She was an active member of Hustonville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Paul Kuske; sister, Alberta Snow and brother, Gilbert Snow. She is survived by a daughter, Rita Kuske Farrell and son-in-law, Howard Farrell of Florence, SC; two brothers, Carlisle (Dorothy) Snow of Hustonville and Jimmy (Sue) Snow of Moreland; two sisters, Jeanette (O) Davis of Hustonville and Pat (Bud) Brown of Hustonville; 3 grandchildren: Katherine Kuske Farrell, Hannah Elizabeth Farrell, and Eleanor Ann Farrell.

Services will be at 11 am, Saturday at Hustonville Baptist Church by Bro. Jonathan Grizzell with burial in Hustonville Cemetery.

LAY - Mrs. Jackson Lay, died at her home on Buck Creek, near O.K., Sunday afternoon after a brief illness. She was a Miss Morgan, daughter of Marshall Morgan, and is survived by her husband and several children. Mrs. Lay was a good Christian woman and will be sadly missed by her neighbors and friends. Her husband is serving as a juror at the special term of court in session here.

John "J.C." Martin, 84, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at his Lincoln County home.

Born July 18, 1928, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Frank and Delphia Woods Martin. J.C. was a farmer, water hauler and drove a bus for Lincoln County schools for 18 years.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eva Harris Martin of Stanford; two daughters, Lana Kim Shipp and Rita Carmelita Mullins; five sisters, Virginia Durham, Ima Jean Goggins, Eva Bradley, Glenna Fabian and Linda Curlis; three brothers, Charles, Elmer and Paul Martin; four grandchildren, Deedra Shipp, and William, Terrence and Stephanie Mullins; and three great-grandchildren, Paige Mullins and Caden and Averey Napier.

Michael G. Mattox, 59, of Stanford, KY died Wednesday, March, 27, 2013, at UK Markey Center in Lexington, KY. He was born September 17, 1953 in Xenia, OH to the late James W. and Mary L. Grey Mattox. He was a maintenance worker on a horse farm for his working career. He was a member of Victory Christian Church in Lancaster, KY.

Arthur Miles, 78, of Vic Greer Road in Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at UK Medical Center in Lexington. Born Wednesday, May 2, 1934 in Letcher County, he was the son of the late Jonah & Ettie Sturgill Miles. He was the widower of the late Margaret Bruner Miles, who preceded him in death on March 11, 1998. Arthur retired as a Coal Miner from Blue Diamond. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and playing cards.

Barbara Jean Kurtz Morris, 69, of Stanford died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her home. She was born July 12, 1943 in Danville, KY to the late Ben and Lola Christerson Kurtz. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse/Human Resources Manager having worked at Ft. Logan Hospital, Dr.'s Bates, Crase and Click in Stanford, Dr. Julian Hardaway in Danville and at Trim Master for several years. She was a former member of the Lincoln County Homemakers, a past 4-H leader, past Ft. Harrod Area 4-H Counselor and a former Cub Scout Den mother. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.

Esther Jane Todd Naylor, 91, of Portman Avenue in Stanford, formerly of Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford. Born Thursday, November 3, 1921 in Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Armstrong & Cora Morgan Todd. She was the widow of the late James E. “Bud” Naylor, who preceded her in death on May 31, 1990. Esther was a member of Waynesburg Pentecostal Church, was a homemaker, loved to crochet, and had a great affection for cats.

Esther leaves behind four nephews, Mark Todd (Patrice), Robbie Todd (Tonya), Paul Todd (Bonnie), and Darol Todd (Louise) all of Stanford; two nieces, Carol Todd Parker (significant other-Jim Benken) of Waynesburg, and Patilda Lynn Barak (George) of Annandale, Virginia; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Melinda "Mindy" Padgett, 36, passed away Monday March 11, 2013 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born April 10, 1976 to Ina Padgett in Waynesburg, KY. She regularly attended Larc Lane and Sunshine Vocational Center.

Mindy is survived by her mother, Lena Padgett, her foster mother, Margaret S. Mangas, grandparents, Robert and Margaret R. Maxine Perkins, 84, of Hustonville, KY passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. Born March 16, 1928 in Liberty, KY to the late Clifton and Clara Mae Wilcher Delk, she was a homemaker and a member of Grace Fellowship Church.

Survivors include two sons; Larry Perkins (Sandy) of Hustonville, KY, Jimmy Perkins (Donna) of Waynesburg, KY, three daughters; Diane Roberts (Wayne) of Hustonville, KY, Vicky Miracle of Stanford, KY, Kim Caudill (Roger) of Hustonville, KY, two brothers; Harold Delk (Jackie) of Stanford, KY, Glenn Delk (Patsy) of Harrodsburg, KY, two sisters; Kathleen Carman of Stanford, KY, Shirley Ann Roberts (Gary) of Junction City, KY, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother; C.M. Delk and one sister; Alene Philpot.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 5-9pm at Spurlin Funeral Home (Stanford). Funeral service will be 11am Monday, March 18, 2013 at Grace Fellowship Church in Stanford, KY with Reverend Vola Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Barry Leach, Joey Roberts, Jerry Johnson, Aaron Miracle, Jeremiah Perkins, and Matt Hutti. Honorary Bearers will be: Will Napier, Jaxson Perkins, Amber Napier, Melanie Hutti, Sara Caudill, Kim Brock, Payton Brock, Alex Hutti, and Conner Hutti.

Born Oct. 29, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Huston and Ruth Kindred Meade. On March 11, 1967, she united in marriage with Bernard Patton Randall, who passed away Jan. 8, 2011.

Rona had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a faithful member at the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two children, Leslie Ann Randall and Robbie (Misty) Randall; her siblings, Joan Sowers, Stanley, Sam and Jon Meade; and two grandchildren, Mikayla Amber and Samuel Houston Randall.

She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends who loved her so much.

The funeral service is today at First Baptist Church in Monticello. Burial is in Parlor Grove Cemetery in Waynesburg, Ky.

Cherry Allene Rogers, 75, of Waynesburg, KY died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY. She was born in Stanford, KY on March 1, 1938 to the late Emerson and Eva Britton Mitchell. She was the widow of the late Robert "Bob" Rogers, she was a housewife for most of her life, and a member of Chesnutt Ridge Baptist.

She is survived by three sons; Porter, Patrick, and Palmer Rogers (Kathy) all of Waynesburg, KY, one daughter; April Shearer of Stanford, KY, one brother; Denver Mitchell (Sue) of Broughtontown, KY, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son; Wendell Gilpin, one daughter; Hope Michelle Rogers, two brothers; Lealon and Freemon Mitchell, and two sisters; Brenda and Geraldine Mitchell.

A graveside service will be held 12pm Saturday, March 16, 2013 at K.P. Hall Cemetery in Kings Mountain, KY with the Reverend David Gambrell officiating. Casket bearers will be Porter Rogers, Patrick Rogers, Chris Mitchell, Eugene Adams, Jason Mitchell, and Ryan Pittman. Spurlin Funeral Home (Stanford) is in charge of arrangements.

William Carl "Bill" Rogers, 74, of Stanford, KY passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at home. He was born November 11, 1938 to the late James Edward and Alberta Lee McGuire Rogers in Stanford, KY and he was a conductor for Norfolk Southern Railroad where he retired after 33 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years; Joan Rogers, 3 sons; William Eric Rogers (Cara) of Danville, KY, James Scott Rogers (Cindy) of Stanford, KY, William Carl "Buck" Rogers II (Shawna) of Stanford, KY, 1 stepson; Johnny Hardwick (Cindy) of West Virginia, 3 daughters; Lori Morris (Steve) of Danville, KY, Mimi Rogers of Stanford, KY, Tori Gaffney (Jason) of Danville, KY, 1 brother; Wayne Rogers (Alice) of Wilmore, KY, Nellie Rogers of Lexington, KY, 13 grandchildren; Hannah Hardwick, Jacob Rogers, Tyler Morris, Cody Morris, Brittany Rogers Davis, Jami Rogers, Levi Rogers, Ryan Douglas, Sarah Rogers, Deziree Rogers, Grace Gaffney, and Luke Gaffney, 2 great-grandchildren; Kinley Davis and Tabby Holden, 2 nephews; Benjamin Rogers and Alexander Rogers of Wilmore, KY, and 1 niece; Nichole Williams of Evansville, IN. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter; Carla Joan Rogers.

Virginia “Peggy” Schooling, 67, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Walker and Mary Jane Adams.

Mrs. Schooling was a nurse for more than 35 years. After her retirement, she went to work at Burke’s Bakery in order to keep busy and was there more than five years. She loved to play bingo, collect teapots and above all else, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband, Gordon Schooling; two sons, Jonathan (Renee) Schooling of Lebanon, Ky., and Jeffrey (Dawn) Schooling of Stanton, Ky.; a brother, Jimmy (Jewell) Adams of Louisville; five grandchildren, Adam Schooling, Kim (Mike) Hargis, Michael Richardson, Morgan Schooling and Maddox Schooling; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with burial to immediately follow in Hustonville Cemetery.

Shirley Ann Simpson, 73, of Broughtontown, died Wednesday, March 6th at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

Born Jan. 7, 1940, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Viola Brock Noakes and the late Richard Noakes.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Lee Simpson whom she married on April 1, 1972. ; a son, Kerry (Bessie) Simpson of Broughtontown; three brothers, Jim Noakes of Science Hill and Jess and John Noakes, both of Broughtontown; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her father, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Noakes. Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating services; Bro. Ralph Reynolds.

TERRY, Bryant Borby 97, of the Covenant Place in Sumter, SC, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Born on October 19, 1915 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, he was the son of the
late William H. Terry and Margaret Bell Graybeal Terry.

Bryant attended Whitewater Township High School in Durham County, Indiana, and then went on to become a farmer with his brother, Harold, in the Seven Mile community of Butler County, Ohio. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Seven Mile for many years. He joined the US Army in January 1941 and was stationed in Camp Shelby, MS. He served in the 147th Infantry of the 3rd Battalion. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he was assigned to the Pacific Theatre where he served for the next 38 months until the end of World War II.

Bryant was first married for 38 years to Barbara Luechauer Ziepfel Terry, who passed away in 1983. In 1984 he married to the former Martha Nash of Greenville, SC, at which time he became a resident of Greenville. They also had a retirement home in Tavares, Florida, which they thoroughly enjoyed for many years. Upon his move to Greenville, Bryant transferred his membership from Seven Mile Presbyterian Church in Ohio to Earle Street Baptist Church, where he has been a member for 29 years. He was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. In late 2004, Bryant and Martha sold their home in Greenville and moved to the Covenant Place in Sumter, SC, where he resided until his death.

Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife Martha, are his sister-in-law, Viola Terry of Altoona, Fl and four step-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Jackson of Sumter, SC and Beatrice Nash of Greenville, SC, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to this first wife Barbara, Bryant was predeceased by all of his five brothers and seven sisters, and three stepchildren, Albert Ziepfel, Billy Ziepfel and Lucille Urban. Funeral Services will be held 2 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Earle Street Baptist Church in Greenville with Dr. Stephen Clyborne officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Lioba “Libby” Tucker, age 91, of Shelby, Ohio, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Dublin Methodist Hospital in Dublin, OH. She was born June 11, 1921 in Crab Orchard, KY the daughter of the late Frank and Albertina (Schaeffer) Hoeck. She was a graduate of Broughtontown High School. On April 14, 1945 she married John A. “Andy” Tucker, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 2005. Libby was the ultimate homemaker excelling in baking, cooking, sewing and crafts. She enjoyed gardening and tending flowers with her husband, John. She was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth.

Surviving are 2 daughters: Regina Travis and Linda (Mark) Whitman all of Hilliard, OH; a daughter-in-law: Ann Tucker of Port Orange, FL; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Elenora Simpson of Stanford, KY.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; a son: Sam Tucker in 2008; a great grandson: Ryan Stanley; a granddaughter: Anne Morehart; 2 sisters: Rita Riddel and Cecelia Williams; 2 brothers: Joseph Hoeck and Anton Hoeck.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, OH and from 9:30-11 AM on Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Ottenheim, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday at St. Sylvester Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
