McKinney, Wanda Toliver of Columbus, Ohio, and Christine Wallace of Cincinnati;

She
was preceded in death by a son, George.

Bastin, 86, of Stanford, died Sunday, Nov. 15.
A
native of Lincoln County, he was born July 18, 1923, to the late Earl Dollie
Frances Sloan Bastin. Bastin was a 1942 graduate of Highland High School and a
1952 graduate of
Carson Newman College in Tennessee. He taught in Tennessee and Jefferson,
Pulaski and Lincoln County and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a World War II
Army veteran decorated with the
America Theater Campaign Medal, Eamet Campaign Medal, two Bronze Service Stars,
a Good Conduct Medal, a Purple Heart and the Victory Medal.
Bastin
was also preceded in death by a son, Frank; two brothers, Jim and Vern Bastin;
and a sister, Johnetta Bastin.
Survivors
include a brother Earl Dean Bastin (Bert) of Burnside; three sisters, Louise
Miracle, Peggy Jo (Jim) Board both of Stanford and Tootsie (Paul) Roberts of
Windsor; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were Nov. 18 at Mt. Moriah Christian Church with Rev. Rob Cox and Jamie
Board officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Military honors
were given by American
Legion Caswell Saufley Post #18.

ORCHARD — Edward Owen “O.B.” Blevins, 58, of Crab Orchard passed away
Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
He
was the husband of Gloria Lynn Cummins Blevins, whom he married on Dec. 29,
2001.
Edward
was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 30, 1951, to Edward Jackson Blevins and the
late Edith Christine Kidd Blevins. He worked as a mechanical contractor for Bob
Foster Heating
& Air for 29 years. Edward enjoyed fishing and mechanic work. He was a
member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Hospital in Stanford.

native of Crab Orchard, she was born April 14, 1932, to the late William Patrick
Hensley and Clara Ann Johnson Hensley. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist
Church, co-owner of
Brummettís Apple House and enjoyed crocheting and painting.
She
was also preceded in death by three small children, Sue, Ginger and Pansy; three
grandchildren; and two brothers.

include her husband, Francis Brummett of Crab Orchard; eight children, Danny

— Robert Charles Bryan, 87, of Lexington died Saturday, Nov. 28 at Central
Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born
March 28, 1922, in Vernon, N.Y., he was a son of the late William B. and Ruth
Lyon Bryan. He was a member of Crestwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ.)
He
graduated from Stanford High School in 1940. In 1943, he entered World War II in
the Army Air Corps, became a pilot and served in the European Theater, Market
Gardens
Campaign, flying C-47 aircraft. He obtained his commercial pilot license and was
discharged in December 1945. He completed a B.S. degree in agriculture at
University of Kentucky in
1948. From 1952-55, he served in the U.S. Air Force as pilot and operations
officer at Stewart Air Force base in New York, and later as B-26 pilot in Korea.
He
was employed by USDA Soil Conservation Service as soil scientist, agricultural
economist and various management positions.
He
was chief of the procurement management branch of the Soil Conservation Service
in Washington, D.C., where he retired in 1977.
He
was employed by Kentucky Land Improvement Contractors of America as executive
secretary of the Kentucky chapter from 1977-1982. He also owned a dairy farm in
Lincoln
County from 1951-60, was president and major stockholder of family-owned
businesses in Lexington, Ky., and Greenville, Miss., from 1961-88. He was the
founder of the Lincoln
County Educational Fund. During the life of the fund, 75 students have received
awards. 26 have graduated and 20 are attending college. He was a member of
Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion.
Survivors
include his wife of 59 years, Betsy Pettus Bradshaw Bryan of Lexington; three
daughters, Rebecca Bryan Crunk of Fairfax, Va., Margaret Bryan Champion (Paul)
of Greencastle,
Ind., and Marie Bryan Weaver (Kenny) of Elizabethtown, Ky.; a sister,
Bettie Marie Pence of Stanford; five grandchildren, Georgia Carol Holko, James
Robert Champion, Elizabeth Michelle
Boucher, John Christopher Weaver and Andrea Elizabeth Weaver; and a
great-grandson, Charles Michael Boucher. He was preceded in death by a brother,
William Bell Bryan Jr.

Oritha Beatrice Bunch, 90, of Waynesburg died Wednesday
at her home. She was born July 4, 1919 in Lincoln County to the late Louis and
Celia Routen Mason. She was a homemaker
and a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church. Oritha loved her flowers,
gardening, yard sales, making quilts; she always had a Christmas gift for
everyone; she never forgot a birthday and honored them
with cards; she was a wonderful Christian lady who was loved dearly by all; she
hosted annual Christmas Eve gatherings and any other special family events.
Survivors include 4 sons Carl Bunch, Jr. (Shirley), Bill
Bunch (Jean), James Bunch (Harlene) and Joe Bunch; a daughter Violet Gourley
(Harold) all of Waynesburg; a brother Millard Mason of Waynesburg
and a sister Elsie Terry of Stanford; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren
and 5 great-great grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her husband Carl
Bunch, a daughter Rosetta Holtzclaw and a
great granddaughter Heather Holtzclaw.

Henry and Louanna Neal. She taught oil painting and quilting, was Mrs. Boyle
County, Mrs. Kentucky Senior and
received the Age of Elegance Award in the Mrs. USA Senior Pageant. She was
proudest of teaching Sunday school for 67 years was married to the late John
Kermit Cash.
She
was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Cash; and a grandson, Jeremy
Prichard.
Survivors
include a son, Eugene (Martha) Cash; a daughter, Judith (Clarence) Adams; seven
grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and 15 great, great grandchildren.
Funeral
services were Dec. 8 at the First Church of God on the Danville By-Pass.

accident on Ky. 39 south of Crab Orchard.

March 22, 1972, in Garrard County, he was the son of Harold (Georgia Ann) Crank
Sr. and Judy Lee Powers Gwyn, both of Crab Orchard. He was a member of
Enterprize Baptist Church in
Somerset and a diesel mechanic for Weddle Enterprises in Somerset.

survivors Include a brother, Shaun T. Crank of Somerset; two sisters, Tonya Lea

taught Sunday School at Stanford Presbyterian Church and she was a gifted
organist for many years there. She served both as an elder and a deacon, and she
was the historian of the church. She was a faithful and a regular visitor in the
local nursing homes. Joan was a teacher at Kentucky School for the Deaf and
later taught and was librarian at Florida School for the Deaf.

native of Manchester, she was born Oct. 19, 1922, to the late Bev and Mary
Langham Hoskins. She was of the Baptist faith and the widow of Henry Spivey and
Edward Pospisil.
She
was also preceded in death by a son, George Spivey; two grandchildren, Steven
Carter Spivey and Lisa Gail Spivey; one great grandchild, Matthew Spivey; three
brothers, Elige, Hubert and Buster Hoskins; and four sisters, Ruby Swikoski,
Henrietta Hoskins Hornsby, Margie Davis and Eva Cunningham.

Harris Saufley, 72, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 7 in Lexington.
Born
Jan. 10, 1937, in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late James C. Harris and
Eleanor Campbell Harris.
She
was a member of the Stanford Christian Church, a graduate of Stanford High
School in 1955 and a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she was a
member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and awarded the Kappa Alpha fraternity
rose. In later years, she was instrumental in forming the charter chapter of
Kappa Alpha Theta at Centre College and served as an advisor for the chapter.
She taught for many years with the Lincoln County Board of Education, worked
with Century 21 Wilson Realty and Auction for 23 years and was a member of
Central Kentucky Board of Realtors, Kentucky Association of Realtors and
National Association of Realtors. She was a charter member of the Herrington
Lake Yacht Club, served as Fleet Captain for two years, remained active on the
Social Committee and was a member of the Herrington Lake Conservation League.
She was also a former member of the Kentucky Walking Horse Association.
Survivors
include her daughter, Lee Saufley (Hunter) Phillips; grandson, Thomas Caswell
Saufley Phillips; two sisters, Linda Harris Best and Martha Ann Bastin; one
brother, James R. Harris; many nieces and nephews; and her loving devoted
4-legged companions, Hampton and Choco.
Funeral
services were Nov. 10 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral in Danville with Dr. Jim
Baughman and Dr. Jerry Shepard officiating. Burial was held privately.

Scott. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from Corning Glass and Phillips
Lighting after 40 years of employment. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist
Church.

include his wife of 53 years, Betty Reynolds Scott; a son, Jeff (Kathy) Scott of
Crab Orchard; two daughters, Cindy (Rod) Bates and Kim (George) Elliott both of
Stanford; six sisters, Lucille (Earl) Adams and Louise (Harold) Reynolds, both
of Danville, Ruth Scott, Velda Herald and Jenny (Fred) Pruitt all of Fairfield,
Ohio, and Dorothy (Ed) Thacker of Fairview, Texas; nine grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Scott,
and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Murphy.

native of Lincoln County, she was born Aug. 24, 1920, to the late John and
Cynthia Simpson Payne. She was a homemaker, member of Watts Chapel Baptist
Church and the widow of James "Jim" Shelton.
She
was also preceded in death by a son, George (Louise) Shelton; daughter, Betty
(Jimmy) Wilburn; son-in-law, Truman Owens; daughter-in-law, Joetta A. Shelton;
sisters, Grace Baker, Ruby Smith and Beatrice Pitzer; brother, David Payne;

Carpenter.

July 17, 1947, in Hendersonville, N.C., he was the son of the late Andy Howard
and Ida Savannah Webb Skeen. He was a retired paint and auto body mechanic.

at his home.

native of Calhoun, Ga., he was born July 29, 1950, the son of Gladys (C. W.)
Brock of Crab Orchard and the late Charles William Wren. He was a 1969 graduate
of Crab Orchard High School and from Campbellsville University. He taught school
in Kentucky and Tennessee and worked as an interior designer and a real estate
agent in New Orleans, La.

survivors include his former wife, Virginia Smith of Liberty; a son, Shane
(Lisa) Wren; four grandchildren, Taylor, Collin, Conner and Mackenzie all of
