James David Boyd, 52 of Florida (resides in Hustonville, KY during summer months) died on Monday, April 14, 2014. Born October 3, 1961, he was the son of Sandra S. Scruggs of S.C and the late
Ralph Edward Boyd. He was a US Air Force veteran and served as a Firefighter for NASA.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Watson Boyd; two daughters, Stephanie Boyd of TX and Lauren Boyd of FL; grandson, Christian David Boyd; brother,
Brent (Curry) Boyd and niece, Bentley Boyd, of S.C.

Services will be at 2 pm, Sat. at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Pastor Tim Howze with burial in Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 am.

BRUNS, Sally Ann age 74, of Miamisburg, OH passed away Friday January 17, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Terry Bruns; children, Kathy (Doug) Leis and Jeff (Terri) Bruns; and grandchildren, Kyle, Drew, Jace, and Tate. Sally was born in Stanford, KY and moved to Dayton during her teenage years.

She graduated in 1957 from Roosevelt High School. She began her career as a medical transcriptionist and she worked at various medical offices. She was also a preschool teacher and stay at home mom to raise her family. Sally then returned to work at Industrial Medical Center as the office manager for 20 years prior to retirement. She enjoyed spending time attending her grandkids activities and sporting events. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church of Miamisburg, Teddy Bear Lunch Bunch, Water Aerobics Group, and participated in various other activities.

Lillian was born August 29, 1919 in Hibbing, MN. She was the third of six born to the late Albert and Eva Liguia. The family was from the Negaunee, Upper Peninsula Michigan area.

Lillian loved many things in life. She was trained in the profession of nursing. She graduated with her L.P. from the College of St. Scholastica with St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota during World War II in a scholarship program called "Cadet Nurse Corp". She served as an LPN in Minnesota, Nebraska, and Kentucky. In retirement years Mom enjoyed traveling with Shockey Tours and volunteering. She volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington for 25 years. Mom was affectionately known as "Miss Lil" there. "Aunt Lillian" also baked wonderful cookies and desserts; they were enjoyed by all who had them. Her baked goods were a welcome sight at many family gatherings and never lasted long. In March 2006, Mom received Jesus Christ into her heart; she is home now.

Surviving are a son: William Wayne Bryan of Wilmore, KY, a grandson: Robert Bryan (Kendra) of Wilmore, KY, and a daughter: Mary F. Bryan of Lexington, KY. Also, surviving are a sister-in-law: Bettie M. Pence of Stanford, KY. A host of nephews and nieces and cousins survive her in several states. She is preceded in death by her siblings and husband William B. Bryan, Jr., and daughter-in-law Diane C. Bryan.

Visitation will be from 1-4pm Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford with private family graveside services the following day at Buffalo Springs Cemetery Shelter in Stanford, KY. She will be laid to rest beside her husband. Pastor Steve Pearson will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred H. Pence, Jr., William E. Pence, and Dr. Samuel Matheny.

Maxine Faye Bryant, 81, of Hubble Road in Stanford, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Tuesday, November 24, 1931 in New Salem, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Esto Estes & Ada Sims Estes Wilcher. She was the widow of Sammy Bryant. Maxine retired as a Time Clerk for the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada and attended South Fork Baptist Church.

Maxine leaves behind three sons, Jackie Ray of Stanford, James Ray (Connie) of Waynesburg, and Ed Ray (partner-Roy Lamey) of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Johnny Wilcher (Elaine) of Danville; four sisters, Matrie Lucas of Waynesburg, Alma Wilcher Littrell (Gary) of Kings Mountain, Suzie McMahan of Waynesburg, and Janie Banks of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Ray; and two brothers, Junior Estes and Robert Wilcher.

Honoring Maxine’s wishes, cremation rites have been honored. A private Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Danville Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow the service. Fox Funeral Home, Stanford, is in charge of arrangements.

William Otis Coleman, 36, of Stanford, KY died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born February 18, 1978 in Liberty, KY to William Boyd Coleman and Norma Rogers Coleman. He graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1997, he was a farmer and was of Pentecostal Faith. Otis's favorite things to do were working on the farm with his brother Boyd and rabbit hunting.

Survivors include his father, William Boyd Coleman of Stanford, KY and his mother, Norma Gail Rogers of Harrodsburg, KY; three brothers, Boyd Coleman, Jr. (Farrah) of Stanford, KY, James Coleman of Georgetown, KY and Jeremy Coleman (Keisha) of Brodhead, KY; three special nephews, Jantsen, Jayden and Weslee Coleman; a special niece, Chasity Coleman; his maternal grandfather, John Phillips of Stanford, KY; special friends, Mark and Ruthie Hiter, Budgie and Tawney VonGruenigen and their children,

Paul Ray Combs, 59, of Berea, KY, and formerly of Dayton & Columbus OH, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. He was born Saturday, August 7, 1954 in Detroit, MI to the late Thornton and Fannie Kelley Combs. He married Anita Gitzinger Combs on October 28, 1994. Paul worked as a computer specialist for the federal government before retiring from there. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. Paul was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Richmond, KY. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard.

Along with his wife, he is survived by one son, Erik (Jodi) Zambell of Long Island, NY; five daughters, Kim Zambell of Sanford, FL, Robin Cooper of Virginia Beach, VA, Keri (Charles) Clabaugh of South Park, CO, Nicole Stewart of Mississippi and Kelsey Dusharm of Auburn, NY; four sisters, Mary Ann (Ronald) Barnett of Waynesburg, KY, Lura M. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery with full military Honors performed by the Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Michael Lee Cornett, 61, of Sidney passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at 8:28 A.M. at his residence.

He was born on January 8, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Dayton and Margaret (Leach) Cornett.

On November 16, 1974 he married Karen Saunders who survives along with three children, Angela Kay Van Horn, Dayton Michael Cornett and Jennifer Renae Russell all of Sidney, 11 grandchildren, Brittany VanHorn, Dylan VanHorn, Nathan VanHorn, Darrian Cornett, Jacob Cornett, Tessa Cornett, Tanner Cornett, Jason Slaybaugh II, Aaron Slaybaugh, Raelyn Russell, Jesse Russell Jr., 3 great grandchildren, Maleki Kelly, Davaughn Thomas and Brielle Hensley. Four brothers, Carl Cornett and wife Juanita, Eugene Cornett and wife Mary, Bobby Cornett and wife Imogene, Eddie Cornett and wife Geneva and one sister, Lillian Cornett.

Mr.Cornett was employed at the former Hydro Aluminum Co. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved playing his guitar and listing to music. He was a great father and was loved by many.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 18, 2014 at 1 P.M.at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY with Rev. Vola Brown officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave. Burial will be at the Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY.

Albert Edward Crawley, 60, husband of Gracie Foley Crawley passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Lexington, KY. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 20, 1953 to the late Albert and Flossie Lynn Crawley. He was a roofer and raised in the Pentecostal faith. He was a loving father, brother, and uncle. He was always ready to help anyone in need.

He is survived by sisters: Juanita Patton, and Wilma Foley, half-sisters: Mary, Easter, and Katie Crawley. He is also survived by his sons: Albert Edward Crawley Jr. (Stephanie) and Kevin Crawley, daughters: Tracie Crawley and Katherine Yeakey (Jerry), grandchildren: D.J. Means, Theresa Crawley, Andrea Means, Steven Crawley, K.J. Crawley, and Wesley Crawley, step-grandchildren: McKenzie Kuhn and Christy (Fieldon) Hensley, a step-great-granddaughter: Charlie Hensley, a very special nephew and niece: Bruce and Kelly Coppage.

A one day service has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford. Visitation will be from 11am-2pm with funeral service beginning at 2pm. Reverend Walter Bowling will officiate. Casket bearers are: Bruce Coppage, Rodney Berry, Donald Raider, Jr., Jerry Yeakey, Fieldon Hensley, and Donnie Means. Nina (Murrell) Doyle age 75, of Princeton, IN, passed away on Saturday, April12, 2014 at the Transcendent Healthcare Facility located in Owensville, IN. She was born March 15, 1939, in Crab Orchard, KY to Felix and Martha (Neal) Murrell, both having preceded her in death.

She was an area resident since 1958 moving here from her hometown of Crab Orchard, KY. She worked at the Princeton Water Dept. before becoming a Title 1 Aide for both the North Gibson School Corporation and also for St. Joseph elementary schools. After retiring as an aid she worked at the former Kmart and then most recently the Wal-Mart jewelry dept. in Princeton, IN.

She was a member of the Oakland City Church of the Nazarene and was until her recent illness a Sunday school teacher at her church.

She is survived by one son, Barrett W. (Jan) Doyle of Princeton, IN, and one daughter, Vanessa (Steve) Kohlmeier of Oakland City, IN.

She is also survived by sisters; Della Meeks of Princeton, IN and Hilda (Bill) Kidd of Shelbyville, KY.

Survivors also include 11 grandchildren; Samantha (Levi) Jordan of Owensville, Haley & Heath Kohlmeier of Oakland City, Kaytlyn (Travis) Gray of Oakland City, IN and Christian, Corban, Kanaan, Colson, Karmyn, Caedmon and Seth Doyle all of Princeton. 2 great grandchildren; Michael Jefferey and Jasmine Serenity Gray of Oakland City, IN

Other survivors include Sister in-laws; Jean Murrell of FL, Laura Murrell of NV, Geneva Murrell of Oakland City, IN and brother in-law, Hal Conklin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Felix, Henry & Homer Murrell, 4 sisters; Edna Sowder, Loie Foister, Hester Conklin, Eloise Wardlow.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St., Princeton, IN 47670 with Pastor Darin Nossett officiating.

Internment will take place at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Mt. Zion Cemetery located in Crab Orchard,KY.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. until time of service at 7:00 P.M.

Tony George Ely, born May 17, 1939 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 7:45am at his home. He was 74 and lived in Stanford, KY. Tony worked for Kirby and Electrolux Corporation and retired after 25 years with Electrolux. In 1985, he and his wife opened up Vacuum's Unlimited (The Sweeper Shop). Tony attended Danville Church of God.

Tony enjoyed selling vacuum cleaners, spending time with his wife and children, fishing, and listening to Gospel music. He also loved classic cars. While working for Electrolux, he earned many awards.

He is survived by his loving wife, Flo Ely, four children: Audrey Gayle Young (Ricky), Robby Ely, Tony Caudill (Donna), and Tonya Watts (David). Eight grandchildren: Kyle Young (Lori), Bradley Brown, Kelli Simpson (Matt), Curtis Brown (Leslie), Jessica Watts, Chris Gilmore, Jacob Caudill, and Joshua Caudill. Seven great-grandchildren: Joshua Brown, Kaden Young, Porter Simpson, Bentley Grace-Ann Brown, Collin Brown, Khloe Brown, and Kennedy Simpson. Tony has two brothers and two sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 28, 2014 from 5-9pm. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 3pm with Reverend Brian Montgomery officiating.

Burial will be at Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Casket bearers are: Robby Ely, Tony Caudill, Bradley Brown, Curtis Brown, Jacob Caudill, Kyle Young and Joshua Caudill.

Daisy Mae Randolph Snow Emerson, 93 of Hustonville passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014. Born September 19, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Clell and Sarah Elizabeth Hill Randolph. She was a member of Slate Hill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Lee Snow; second husband, Arnold Emerson; daughters, Alberta Lee Snow and Elizabeth Kuske; son, Gilbert Snow; brothers, Earl Randolph and George Rogers and sister, Easter Rogers. She is survived by two sons, Carlisle Snow and Jimmy Snow; two daughters, Jeanette Davis and Pat Brown; three sisters: Frances Jeffries, Nancy Lennington and Emma Lou Asberry; two brothers, Lewis Rogers and Raymond Rogers; twelve grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 pm, Thursday at W.L Pruitt Funeral Home with burial in Reed Cemetery by Bro. Wayne Cole and Bro. Howard Godby. Pallbearers are David Ray, Jeff, Rex, Robert and Hank Snow and Chris Davis.

Kenneth Ray Fields, 51 of West Pleasant Point School Road in Waynesburg, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, April 12, 1962 in Cincinnati, OH to late Fred C. & Jewel Yocum Fields. He married Odena Fields on May, 4, 2012. Kenneth worked as a Lineman at I.B.E.W. and attended South Fork Baptist Church. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, and camping.

Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Hope, Tiffany and Claressa Fields all of Warfordsburg, PA; one brother, Bruce (Kathy) Fields of Waynesburg; two sisters, Rhonda Cheney of Debary FL, and Jackie (Glenn) Adington of Waynesburg; and two grandchildren, Myles and Connor Fields.

Daniel John Gosparlin, 96, of Stanford, KY passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at home. He was born August 5, 1917 in Chicago, IL to the late Frederick and Veronica Gosparlin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for Wells Manufacturing Company for 37 years. He was a member of the Catholic Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years: Gwendolyn Gosparlin of Stanford, KY, one daughter: Patricia Buchwald (Robert) of Stanford, KY, two grandsons: Mark Hipps (Angela) and Jason Hipps, one granddaughter: Alacyn Buchwald, two great-grandchildren: Tiffany and Natalie Hipps all of Stanford, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Lillian Ickes and Sylvia Stadnick.

Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 from 5-9pm. Funeral will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:30am. Both services will be held at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.

Judy Guinn, 83 of Junction City passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in the comfort of her family on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Born August 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Myrtle Peyton Miller. She was retired from Shakertown after 19 years and was also a Farmer’s National Bank employee. She loved animals, flowers and birds.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Green; a daughter, Patricia Guinn and sister, Katherine Evans.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in law, Sharon (formerly Magnatta) and Al Carpenter of Waynesburg; two sons, Carl Guinn of Junction City and Billy Guinn of Texas; three grandchildren: Judy Kinley, Ramona Guinn and Carla Devine; and two great grandchildren.

HIRSCH, Lula (Lou) 81, of Tipp City, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at her home. Born April 28, 1932 in Stanford, Kentucky to Grover C. and Lula B. House.

Preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Martha Keeton, Ruth Baker and Gussie Grubbs; 2 brothers, Frank and Grover C. House; and their childrens father, Robert Hirsch; and special friend, William Scott.

Lou is survived by her children, Thomas M. Hirsch, Belleair Bluffs, FL, Katherine "Kathy" Herzog, Largo, FL, and David (Christine) Hirsch, Chicago, IL; along with sister, Sue (Bill) Million, Lanesville, IN; brothers, John (Jean) House, Lexington, KY, Robert (Melba) House, Amarillo, TX; 3 grandchildren, John Robert Hirsch, Mark and Ryan Herzog; great grandson, Bradley Herzog; sister-in-law, Audrey House; special friends, Jan (Bob) Burns, New Carlisle, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lou had worked for Bowling Moorman Publications as an executive secretary for 26 years before retiring. She volunteered her time to The Clothesline, Needy Basket and FISH and was a member of the Tipp City Senior Citizens. She was an avid and competitive bridge and euchre player and competed in horseshoes. Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Maple Hill Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held following the service at the Tipp City Senior Citizens Center, S. First Street.

Riley “Buddy” Hodge, age 75, of KY Hwy 698 in Hustonville, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Saturday, May 21, 1938 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Charlie Lawrence & Bertie Kidd Hodge. Buddy worked as a farmer and loved to go “joy riding”.

Buddy leaves behind his companion, Jenny Lynn Hooper of Hustonville; his ten children, Vernon Hodge (Diana) of Somerset, Riley Hodge (Jennifer) of Waynesburg, Bobbi Jo Hodge (Tim) of Stanford, Earl Hodge of Eubank, Charlie Hodge (Tonya) of Kings Mountain, Gail Matthews of Hustonville, Jimmy Hodge (Leslie) of Lexington, Brian Hooper of Hustonville, Owen Hodge of Hustonville, and Christopher Hodge of Hustonville; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six siblings, Alta Irene Hodge (Kelly) of McKinney, Ruby Harrison of Waynesburg, Delbert Eugene Hodge of Waynesburg, George Carlos Hodge of Waynesburg, Jonas Hodge (Barb) of Kings Mountain, Joyce Pike (Joe) of Eubank; and one sister-in-law, Aline Faye Pike Hodge of Waynesburg.

Rubie Johnson Holton, age 83, of KY Hwy 1778 in Hustonville, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Saturday, September 13, 1930 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Logan A. & Salena Austin Johnson. She was the widow of the late Raymond Holton, who preceded her in death May 11, 2000. Rubie was a homemaker and member of South Fork Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales, cooking, flowers, her cats, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rubie leaves behind four sons, Ronald Holton (Bonnie) of Waynesburg, Randall Holton (Betty Jo) of Junction City, Robert Holton (Debbie) of Liberty, and Ricky Holton of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Regina Adams (Ricky) of Junction City and Rhonda Kay Cornett (Hank) of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other special friends.

Russell Edward Jenkins, age 66, of Main Street in McKinney passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Sunday, February 15, 1948 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Raymond & Laura Gaines Jenkins. Russell worked as a concrete truck driver for many years. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and loved to trade pocket knives.

Russell leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy Kay Minks Jenkins, four daughters, Kisha Roberts of Burlington, KY, Samantha Walls (Ed) of Stanford, Dedi Largent of Williamstown, KY and Laura Jenkins of McKinney; two brothers, Delbert Jenkins of Williamstown, KY and Clyde Jenkins of Waynesburg; as well as four grandchildren, TJ Roberts, Brianna Roberts, Cole Shelton, and Abby Walls.

Kenneth Shane Manuel, 40, of Crab Orchard, KY passed away Thursday, April 10th, at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Shane was born in Danville, KY on September 2, 1973.
He was the son of Kenneth Lee and Thresa Gay (Wall) Manuel. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and had formerly worked as a press operator for R.R. Donnley's. He was an
associate member of VFW post #3634 and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

she was the daughter of the late Luther & Susie Mason Graham. Nan was the widow of the late David Darrell McKnight, her husband of 48 years, who preceded her in
death in 1999. She was a homemaker and loved to sew, cook, play Bingo, and work crossword puzzles in her spare time.

Nan leaves behind one son, David McKnight of Stanford; two daughters, Brenda Thomas (Gary) of Stanford and Debbie Hays (Mark) of Louisville; one brother, Charles Graham

He was also preceded in death by one son, Duff S. Moore; seven brothers; and one sister.

Terry Moore, age 66, of Bronston, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset. Born Sunday, July 6, 1947 in McKinney, he was the son of the late Frank C. & Pauline Sims Moore. He was the widower of the late Karen K. Eldridge Moore, who preceded him in death April 1, 2004. Terry was a US Army Veteran, who served during the Vietnam Era. Throughout his working career, he owned Terry’s Body Shop and also owned a restaurant. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and building things.

Terry leaves behind his partner, Donna Cook of Bronston; two sons, Greg Moore (Theresa Kibby) and Tyler Moore both of Somerset; one grandson, Strahd Moore-currently serving in US Navy; one sister-in-law, Carole Moore of Kings Mountain; and two nieces, Gina Douglas and Jerri Lynn Moore.

Lisa Ann Newcomb, 48 of Danville passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Lisa was the wife of Keith Newcomb whom she married on June 29, 1985. She was born in Liberty, Kentucky on December 10, 1965 to Jewell (Peyton) Patterson and the late Cash Patterson. Lisa was a graduate of Mid-Way College and the Indiana Wesleyan University where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She was an employee of Ephraim McDowell Hospital and was a former employee of Fort Logan Hospital and the Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Center. Lisa was a member of the Fort Logan Church of Christ and was a loving and faithful wife, mother, daughter and sister.

Estline Noe, 80, of Crab Orchard, KY passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 after a long battle of heart disease at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born October 23, 1933 in the Copper Creek Community of Rockcastle County. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Ollie Cupp Ellison. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her oldest daughter, Sue, and an infant Son, Ray; 2 Great Granddaughters, Autumn Sky and Aliyah Rayne Felty; Son-in-Law, Gary Kidwell; 3 Brothers, Joe, Junior and Bobby Ellison; 2 Sisters, Reba Short and Hester Leece.

Estline is survived by her loving husband Ray of 61 years. Ray took such loving care of Estline unconditionally and exceptionally during the last years of her illness.

Emmit L. Patton, 81, of Stanford, KY passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Stanford, KY. Born February 10, 1932 in Stanford, KY to the late Albert and Gertrude Wilkinson Patton, he was retired from General Motors where he worked as a welder for 30 years. Mr. Patton enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Crab Orchard First Baptist Church.

William "Bill" Phillips, 88, of Stanford, KY passed away May 8, 2014 at Golden Living Center. Born December 12, 1925 in Boyle County, KY to the late Willie and Kate Manuel Phillips, he was the widower of the late Josephine Shearer Phillips, and was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII. He worked as a farmer for most of his life before becoming the owner and operator of the Stanford Creemee for 12 years. He was also a deacon and charter member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and was a former member of Willow Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son: Gary Phillips (Lana), two daughters: Linda Tracy and Nancy Roller (P.D.) all of Stanford, KY, two grandchildren: Stacy Holcomb and Chris Brown, and two great-grandchildren: Cody Lunsford and Hannah Brown. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

He served his country in the Navy and worked for RR Donnelley & Sons as a Bindry Operator for 25 years. Jimmy loved his family and friends. He coached Little League and also did fund raisers for Little League. Jimmy was a member of the American Legion Post 345. He also enjoyed motorcycles, racing and any sport. Jimmy was a devoted grandfather.

Anthony Edward Siler, 52, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Siler was born on March 28, 1962, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, the son of John E. Siler Jr. and Lydia Denney. He married Jodie Baker March 4, 1988, in Columbus, Indiana. She survives.

Mr. Siler worked as an inspector-grinder operator for AISIN U.S.A. in Seymour, Indiana, for eleven years. He had previously worked as an inspector for Golden Casting in Columbus, Indiana, from 1987 to 2004. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and spending time with his grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Jodie Siler of North Vernon, Indiana; two daughters, Jessica Bradley of Madison, Indiana, and Angel Siler of North Vernon, Indiana; his parents, Lydia and John Siler Jr. of Columbus, Indiana; two sisters, Pamela Andrew of Columbus, Indiana, and Lisa (Cliff) Stults of Franklin, Indiana; and his grandson, Kyle Siler of North Vernon, Indiana.

Brandon Wayne “Kool-Aid” Sims, age 31, of KY Hwy 1247 in Waynesburg, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Thursday, September 23, 1982 in Danville, he was the son of Carol Wray Buchanan of Moreland and the late Newland Wayne Sims. His loving wife is Winona Jean Owen Sims, whom he married October 14, 2000. Brandon worked as a truck driver and loved to fish and play Xbox, in his spare time.

In addition to his wife, Brandon leaves behind two sons, Brandon Edward’Wayne Sims and Brayden Wayne Sims both of Waynesburg; his mother and father-in-law, Jack and Kathy Owens of Danville; one sister, Katrina Culbertson (Danny) of Stanford; and close friends, Shawn Griffin, Meatloaf, Brian Cook, Nisha Penman, Jason Masterson, and Michael & Michelle Owens.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Grant Tackett officiating the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Mary Magdalene Sims, 86, of Kings Mountain, KY passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Stanford, KY. Born February 20, 1924 in Waynesburg, KY to the late John and Emma Falconbury Reece, she was the widow of the late Raymond Sims. She was a seamstress serving factories for 20 years. She was a former employee of both Cowdens and Mercer Dress (Burgin). She was a Kentucky Colonel and also a member of Watson's Chapel Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons: Lyndell Eugene Sims (Judy), Raymond Conley Sims (Juanita), and Dennis Lee Sims (Cherry) all of Kings Mountain, KY, two sisters: Pearl Short of Stanford, KY and Wilma Hatter of Kings Mountain, KY, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: Ronald Sims, two sisters, and one brother.

Mary Elizabeth Tincher Smith, 87, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at home. Born April 25, 1927 in Garrard County, KY to the late William Henry and Nancy Frances Johnson Tincher, she was the widow of the late Homer J. Smith. She was a seamstress having worked for Palm Beach Inc. and Ceramachrome. She was also a member of Stanford Baptist Church.

Survivors include four children: Mary Lasure (Manles), Fran Banks, Gary Bush (Janice), and Homer Smith, Jr. (Christy) all of Stanford, KY, two brothers: William Henry "Pee Wee" Tincher of Orlando, FL, and Charles Tincher (Becky) of Hamilton, OH, one sister: Ruby Tuttle (Gene) of Orlando, FL, four grandsons: Jody Lasure (Tina), Jeff Lasure (Debbie), Ray Banks, and Jeremy Smith (Amanda), one granddaughter: Bethany Hope Smith, four great-granddaughters: Lindsey Gentry (Ryan), Ashley Lasure, Kayla Lasure, and Chelsea Banks (Michael), three great-grandsons: Josh Lasure, Ethan Lasure, and Jacob Smith, three great-great-grandaughters: Blakely Garland, Bristol Jones, and London Bishop, and a special friend: Brooke Harris. She was preceded in death by one sister: Marie Siler and one infant sister: Lorraine Tincher. * She was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter: Haley Michelle Lasure.

Valerie Vaca Travis, 58, of Waynesburg, KY passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at home. Born September 28, 1955 in San Lewis Obispo, CA to the late Abraham and Elaine Guidetti Vaca, she worked as a waitress for most of her life. She was a cheerful, caring, and kind woman with a heart for Jesus, her family, and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed the simplicity of life and God's blessings and beauty that surrounded her.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years: Ron Harris of Waynesburg, KY, one son: Codey Travis of Macomb, MS, two daughters: Ranell Tillett (Rick) of Stanford, KY, and Stacy Wiggins (McKinley) of Birmingham, AL, two brothers: Dennis Vaca and Larry Vaca (Pauline), one sister: Pam Dorgeloh, all of Atascadero, CA, six grandchildren (expecting her 7th in October), and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Chuck Vaca.

Bobby Darrell “Bobcat” Walls, age 69, of Bastin Creek Road in Kings Mountain, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Casey County Hospital. Born Sunday, May 14, 1944 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Jack & Eva Salyers Wall. Bobby worked at Genesco, for 25 years, as a supervisor. He attended Walltown Christian Church, was a Kentucky Colonel, and was a champion horseshoe player.

Bobby leaves behind one daughter, Jennifer Lea Bastin (Timothy) of Liberty; one brother, Arlis Walls of Hamilton, Ohio; four sisters, Agnes Goforth of Yosemite, Rita Dunham of Mason, Ohio, Carol Butts of Cape Coral, Florida, and Becky Anderson of Taylorsville, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Natalie and Daniel Bastin; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by one daughter, Natasha Walls; five brothers, Marvin, Merle Gene, Hollis, Lowell, and Arnold Wall; and one sister, Madell Wall.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Lynville Hatter officiating the service. Burial will follow in K. P. Hall Cemetery. James Edward (Jimmy) Walls, 77, of Danville, Kentucky died Tuesday, April 15, 2014.

Husband of Shirley Farmer Walls whom he married on December 31, 1953. He was born November 20, 1936 in Moreland and was the son of the late Otis N. and Martha Hacker Walls.

Survivors Include: Wife of 60 years, Shirley Farmer Walls of Danville, Two Daughters: Donna & Husband Shayne Fines of Junction City, Vicky Hester of Stanford. Dallas M. Wilson, 70, of Crab Orchard, KY passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at home. He was born January 21, 1944 in Brodhead, KY to the late Calloway and Mattie Niday Wilson. He worked for 27 years at Gulf States in Nicholasville, KY. Mr. Wilson enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren. He was also a member of West Brodhead Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Lillian Wilson of Crab Orchard, KY, one son: Mike Wilson (Misty) of Boone County, KY, one daughter: Patricia York (Travis) of Crab Orchard, KY, five brothers: James Wilson of Brodhead, KY, Robert Wilson of Waynesburg, KY, Denver Wilson of Arizona, Earl Wilson and Billy Wilson both of Crab Orchard, KY, one sister: Lucille Adams of Fairfield, OH, five grandchildren: Andrew, Whitney, Justin, Trent, and Regan, and two great-grandchildren: Mason & Hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Jo Ann Stevens Yocum, 75, of Crab Orchard, KY died Friday, May 9, 2014, at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born May 5, 1939 in Stanford, KY to the late Oley D. and Sarah Ellen Stevens. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Temple Church in Jesus Name. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother,grandmother and mother-in-law.
