Allen Padgett, 39, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Waynesburg, died Friday, August 22 at Bay Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.  

He was born in Hamilton Co., Ohio on April 15, 1947 to Doris Tenner and Clarence Padgett. He was a dairyman, a member of a Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran for 7 years, 
Vietnam Conflict and a member of the VFW.  

Survivors include his wife, Mary Padgett; a son, Michael Padgett, and a daughter,

Stephanie Padgett, both of St. Petersburg and his grandparents, Grover and Louis Bounds of St. Petersburg and Ernest Padgett of Waynesburg.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 26 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Hill officiating. Burial was in Parlor Grove Cemetery

Clarence Allen Padgett, 69, a resident of 465 Ed Padgett Rd., Waynesburg, died Wednesday Nov. 1, 1989, at his home.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was born March 26, 1920, a son of Ernest A. Padgett, Waynesburg, and the late Elveree Harris Padgett. He was a member of Parlor 
Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.  

Additional survivors include; a son, Thomas Padgett, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Richard Padgett, Waynesburg; three sisters, Irene Ollish, Luellen Davis and 
Roxie Meece all of Waynesburg; and two granddaughters.  

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home in Waynesburg by the Rev. Vola Brown. Burial was in Parlor Grove Cemetery

Dorothy Lee Padgett, 57, of 15845 Ky. Hwy. 1247, Waynesburg, died Sunday, Sept. 13 at her residence.  

A native of Casey County, she was born December 2, 1934 to Lora Falconbery Sims of Ferguson, Ky., and the late Ernest Sims. She was a housewife and a member of the Waynesburg Church of God of Prophecy.  

Other survivors include her husband, Jackie Padgett of Waynesburg; two sons, Gary Lee and Randy Lee Padgett, both of Cincinnati, OH.; two daughters, Arlene 
Linda Gastineau. and Cynthia Rachel Padgett, both of Waynesburg; four brothers, Willard Sims of Liberty, Donald Sims of Franklin, IN; Darrell Sims and 
Randall Sims both of Danville; four sisters,

Imogene Durham of Yosemite, Francis Sneed of Franklin IN., Carol Cook of Ferguson and Burnice Whitaker of Eubank; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Waynesburg Church of God of Prophecy, Waynesburg with Bro. Jack Carter officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery.

Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Iva Irene Padgett, 83, of Memphis, TN., formerly of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, April 5 at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN.  

She was born Sept. 29, 1905 to Samuel A. Padgett and Tabitha Bell Horton. She was a retired druggist for the Padgett Pharmacy.  

Survivors include a brother, Herbert Padgett of Memphis, TN.

Graveside services were held Monday, April 10 at the Double Springs Cemetery with Charles Brown officiating.

Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lewis Green Padgett, 90, of Rt. 2, Olive Community, died Saturday, August 25 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was born July 8, 1899 to the late Lilburn Padgett and Mahalia Oaks Padgett. He was a farmer and a member of Olive Baptist Church. 
He was the widower of Naomi Padgett. He is also preceded in death by three sons, Chester, Cecil and Russel Padgett.  

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Sluder of Stanford; two brothers, Rhoder Padgett, and Pete Padgett of Waynesburg; 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one 
great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services were held Monday, August 28 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Buschur officiating. Burial was in Olive Cemetery

Russell E. Padgett, 58, of Rosemont Drive, Stanford, died May 19, at his home after a long illness.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of Naoma and L. G. Padgett [Lewis Green], he was a bricklayer, a World War II Veteran, and was a member of Olive Baptist Church.  

Other survivors include his wife Juanita Bedford Padgett; 3 sons, Lannie Padgett of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ricky and Jamie Padgett both of Stanford; 5 daughters, Norma 
Daniels and Sandra Morris both of Cincinnati, Ohio; Melody Merrell, Stanford, Kathy Harness, Crab Orchard, Sharon Upton, Halls Gap; 1 step daughter Darlene Payton, of Stanford; 
1 brother, Chester Padgett, of Waynesburg; 1 sister, Virginia Sluder of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  

Funeral services were held Friday, May 22 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Buscher officiating. Burial was in Olive Cemetery.

Versie Mae Padgett, 89, of 122 Fairgrounds Road, Stanford, died June 6, 1992 at the Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was born February 1, 1903 to the late George Brown and Elizabeth Todd Brown. She was a homemaker, a member of Olive 
Baptist Church and the widow of Alva Padgett. [died 1978]  

Survivors include one son, Leamond Padgett of Stanford; a step son, Sherman Padgett of West Manchester, OH.; one daughter, Marie Cress of Stanford; a step daughter, 
Ednalee  Adams of West Manchester, OH.; one sister Maude Eubank of Waynesburg; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Monday, June 8, at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Mullins officiating. Burial was in Double Springs, Cemetery in Waynesburg.

PALLEN, Enid Sims  

May 10, 1931 - January 15, 2001  

The Sims family received word Monday morning of this week of the sudden death by heart attack of 69 year old Enid Sims Pallen, of Ludlow. Enid was the last of the 
five children of the late Arthur and Kathleen Doan Sims. She worked a three-day shift at Robinson's Drapery Factory in Cincinnati, she leaves two children, [William] Steffon 
Fallen [ Pallen ] of Ludlow and Elaine Barlow of Indiana.  

The funeral will be in Ludlow, Thursday. Ms. Pallen will be brought to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home at Liberty. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday and burial 
will follow at the Sims Family Cemetery on Robertstown Road.

Ms. Pallen grew up on the Sims farm with her brothers and sisters and still has many relatives and friends here.

Robert Salin Parker, 74, of 115 Blue Ridge Dr., Berea, Ky., (formerly of the Rowland community), died Thursday, August 5 at the VA Hospital on Leestown Road in Lexington.  

A native of Stamping Ground, Ky., he was born Oct 25, 1918 to the late Russell Parker and Berth Parker Baldwin. He was a retired employee of Stanford Wood Products, 
a WW II Army Veteran  and a member of Stanford Baptist Church.  

Survivors include his wife Juanita Deatherage Parker of Berea; two sons, Mike Parker of Versailles and Lanny Dale Parker of Lexington; two daughters, Jeannine Lakes of Berea and 
Tammy Lynn Vaught of Hustonville; one sister Roberta House of Midway; half-sister, Anna Stone Southworth of Versailles; two half brothers, Jimmy Baldwin of Georgetown 
and Junior Baldwin of Washington State; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 7, at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Toole officiating. Burial in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Emery Duke Payne, 65 of Crab Orchard, died June 27 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.  

He was born June 20, 1926 in Rockcastle County to the late James Payne and Elizabeth French Payne. He was a retired carpenter, a navy veteran, 
a member of the VFW of Stanford and a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church.  

Survivors include one daughter, Flora Hines, Stanford; three sons, James Payton, Danville, Ronald Payne of Jeffersonville, IN., and Emery Duke Payne, Jr., Great Lakes, 
Chicago; one sister, Louise Smith, Lake Wales, FL.; 7 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  

Funeral services were held June 29 at the Martin Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Gutenson.

Burial was in the Crab Orchard Cemetery. There were graveside military rites by the

Caswell Saufley Post # 18 Stanford.  

Pallbearers were Jeff Taylor, Mike Elam, Eddie Elam, Stanley Turpin, Ronnie Newcomb, and Bill Dyehouse.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.

Lena Mae Adams Payne, age 76, died Tuesday, May 31, 1994 at Garrard County Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, Ky. A Resident of 132 Totten Ave, Lancaster, Ky. She was born 
March 22, 1918 in Lincoln County, Ky and was a daughter of Lula Anderson Adams of Lancaster and the late Leslie Adams. 

She was a retired employee of Palm Beach Co., in Danville, and a member of Gilberts Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one brother, James and one sister, Mary.  

Survivors include her husband, Cuba Payne, and her mother Lula Adams both of Lancaster, three brothers, Charles of Dayton, Ohio, Ernest of Lexington, Ky. and Roy of 
Hamilton, Ohio; one sister, Dorothy Marie Dailey of Greenville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 at Ramsey Funeral Home officiated by  Rev. Morris Trayner. Burial was in Goshen Cemetery in Lincoln Co

Nephews served as pallbearers.

PECK, Elmer R.  

May 22, 1925 - April 28, 1988  

Stanford - Elmer Richard Peck, 62, of Brock's Lane died last Thursday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington, after an illness.  

Born May 22, 1925, he was the son of John and Ethel Cecil Peck. He was a welder and construction worker and served in the Navy in World War II. He was 
a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church, McKinney Masonic Lodge 631, F&AM, the Royal Arch Lodge in Middletown, Ohio. Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  

Survivors include his wife, Allean Taylor Peck; a son, Richard Lee Peck of Warsaw; eight stepchildren; two brothers, Pat Peck of Stanford and Elbert Peck of Middletown, 
Ohio; a sister, Helen Hineline of Riverside, Calif., and four grandchildren.  

The funeral was held Saturday at Fox Funeral Home by Bill Rhodus. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Born in Lincoln County July 8, 1927, he was a son of Bessie Phillips Pennington and the late Luke Pennington.  

Other survivors include his wife, Ruby James Pennington; 2 sons, Fred R. Pennington of Indianapolis, Ind., and Loren Pennington of Waynesburg; 2 daughters, 
Connie L. Komlance, Indianapolis, Ind., Tina Pennington, Waynesburg; 5 brothers Rev. Charles Pennington, Cleveland, Tenn., Odell, Sturgis, Henry

Mary E. Pennington, 80, of 205 Lancaster Street, Stanford, died November 19 at the Fort Logan Hospital.  

A native of Pulaski County, she was born January 13, 1912 to the late William Gover and Ollie Mills Gover. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church.  

Survivors include her husband, Palis Pennington of Stanford; three sons, Robert Pennington of Harrodsburg, Lindsey and William Pennington, both of Stanford; three daughters, 
Margarette Cooper, Stanford, Alberta Caldwell of Cincinnati, OH., and Ida Barbour of Benecia, CA.; two sisters, Louida Gray of Lexington and Virginia Kidd of Wilber Force, OH.; 
17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Ewing officiating. Burial was in Pennington Cemetery in Stanford.

A native of Lincoln County, he was born June 21, 1900 to the late Claborne Pennington and Margaret Higgins Pennington. He was a farmer of Cedar Ridge 
Baptist Church and widower of Mary E. Gover Pennington.  

Survivors include three sons, Robert R. Pennington of Harrodsburg, Lindsay Pennington and William Pennington of Stanford; three daughters, Margaret Cooper of 
Stanford, Alberta Caldwell of Cincinnati, OH, and Ida Barbour of Benecia, CA.; two brothers, John Frank Pennington of Albuquerque, NM., and Jesse J. Pennington of Cincinnati, OH.,  
three sisters, Mattie P. Hayes of Cincinnati, Florence Smith of Covington and Anna Masterson of Stanford; 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the First Baptist Church in Stanford with Rev. William H. Ewing as Minister and Rev. Fred Wilkerson as Master of Ceremonies.

Burial was in Pennington Cemetery in Stanford.

Fox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Albert Herman "Buck" Petrey, 66, of 7471 Highway 643, Crab Orchard, died Monday, Oct 30 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  

A native of Lincoln County, he was born April 29, 1929 to the late Jesse William and Isabelle Hines Petrey. He was a member of the Pine Hall Church of Christ and a retired farmer.  

Survivors include his wife, Delores Mae Perrine Petrey of Crab Orchard; two sons, Jerry Petrey of Stanford and Albert Leon Petrey of Waynesburg; four brothers, 
Dalmas and Howard Petrey, both of Broughtontown, Jesse Petrey, Jr., of Chicago, IL., and Clyde Thomas Petrey of Norfolk, VA.,: two sisters, Lillie Jane Blanton of 
Crab Orchard and Wilma Barnes of Waynesburg; one grandchild, Adam Stanton Leon Petrey of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 2 at the McKnight-Martin Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Bro. Cecil Roundtree officiating. Burial will be in the Double Springs Cemetery.  

Active pallbearers will be Keith Newcomb, Bradley Barns, James Robert Harris, Mark, Jimmy, and Billy Petrey.

Annie Mullins Petrey, 85, of 625 Danville Pike of Eaton Subdivision, Stanford, died March 9, 1992 at the Fort Logan Hospital of an extended illness.  

She was born March 10, 1906 in Knott County to the late James Mullins and Sarah Johnson Mullins. She was a housewife and attended the Old Regular Baptist Church.  

She was the widow of Bradley Petrey. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond Petrey.  and a daughter Alene Petrey.  

Survivors include four sons, Glen Petrey, Lockland, OH., Cecil Petrey, McKinney, Freddie Petrey, and William Petrey, both of Stanford; two daughters, 
Mrs. Everett (Thelma) Rogers, Stanford and Mrs. Richard (Christine) Pendygraph, Danville; one brother, Arthur Mullins, Bushnell, FL.; one sister, Liza Denny, 
Crab Orchard; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  

Funeral services were held March 12, 1992 at the Martin Funeral Home by Bro. Murl Caudill, Bro. Arnold Whitaker and Bro. Haston Whitaker. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery 

Pallbearers were Richard Pendygraph, Foster Mullins, Gilbert Mullins, Charles Mullins, James Watts, Danny Watts and Charles Adams.

Graveside services were held at the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery with Elder John Kelly officiating.

She was born in Whataugta Co., N.C. to the late Rachel Church and J. R. Fletcher. She was the widow of Raymond Petrey. A housewife and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 sons, George Petrey, Amherst, Ohio, and Leland Petrey, Waynesburg; 1 brother, Charles Fletcher, Waynesburg; 2 sisters, Mrs. Opal Ollish, Waynesburg and 
Mrs. Mamie Caudill, Valley Cruces, N. C.; and 4 grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 5 at the Barnett Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Elmore Ray officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

She was born March 11, 1919 to the late George and Paralee Harris Petrey. She was never married, a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by a brother, James Petrey of Waynesburg.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov 29 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Alfred Carrier officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery

James Cooper Petrey, 90, a native of the Ottenheim section of Lincoln County, died Saturday, June 6, 1998 in Ohio, where he resided.  

He was the husband of the late Margaret Redwine Petrey.

Petrey is survived by a son, James L. Petrey; one daughter, Sondra Sams; a sister, Elizabeth McGuire of Stanford; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Schmidt-Dhonau Funeral Home, Reading, Ohio.

Stanford - Lillie Pearl Petrey of 119 East Main St., Stanford, was found dead at her home at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 of an apparent heart attack.  

She was born March 13, 1919 to the late Thomas M. and Margaret Anderson Johnson.  She was the widow of Benny Petrey.

Survivors include a son, Bennie Ray Petrey, with the U.S. Navy stationed in Japan; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence E. Walser of Danville and Mrs. Oneida B. Goens of Stanford Route 3; a brother, 
Cillous Johnson of Crab Orchard, and five nieces. A sister, Mrs. Anna Mae Hayes preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Morgan and Fox Funeral Home at 11 a.m., Thursday with the Rev. Lonnie Daugherty, pastor of the Stanford Church of God officiating. 
Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Earl Fletcher, Green Clark, Ray Reynolds, Ben Gaines, Jess Richards and Pearl Helton.

Raymond Lee Petrey, 63, of Rt. 2, Waynesburg, died Saturday, October 31 at his home.  

He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 14, 1923 to Annie Mullins Petrey of Rt. 2 Waynesburg and the late Bradley Petrey.

He was a retired state employee.

Rogers of Cincinnati, Ohio and Christine Pendygraft of Danville; two nieces, Lori Pendygraft and Kathy Petrey; three nephews, Larry Rogers, James Petrey and Bradly Petrey 
and two great nephews, Evan and Kyle Rogers, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.  

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 2 at the Crab Orchard Old Regular Baptist Church with Murel Caudill and Lee Fields officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were James Petrey, Larry Rogers, Larry Fields, Randy Sloan, Vernon Sloan and Harvey Whitaker.

Martin Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Petrey, age 87, widow of Simon Petrey, Sr. of Frankfort died Friday, November 27 at her home. She was born in Bell County, 
March 26 1894 to the late James and Emily Rice Johnson.  

Survivors include four sons, Simon Petrey, Jr., Frankfort, Howard of Frankfort, Landmom Petrey of Lexington and Robert Petrey of Lawrenceburg; Four daughters, 
Mrs. Verna Murphy of Frankfort, Mrs. Viola Stivers of Frankfort, Mrs. Helen Monroe of Frankfort, and Mrs. Edna Burton of Lexington; one brother, Landmon Johnson of Prestonburg; 
one sister, Clara Johnson of Crab Orchard; seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.  

Services were held Monday, November 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home in Frankfort.

Thomas E. Petrey, 25, of 69 Woodson Apt 30, Versailles, Ky., died Saturday April 23 on Hwy 643, Ottenheim Road, due to an auto accident.  

A native of Elgin, Ill., he was born June 6, 1962 to James Howard Petrey, Sr. and Barbara Kuebler Petrey of Midway, Ky. He was a 12 year employee of Hurstland Horse 
Farm and member of a Catholic Church.  

Other survivors include his wife, Barbara Switzer Petrey of Versailles; two daughters, Sarah and April Petrey, both of Versailles; two brothers, Jimmy and Billy Petrey both of 
Midway; a sister Frances Petrey of Hyden, Ky., and a niece.  

Pallbearers were Jerry, Leon, Billy, Joe and Mike Petrey. Keith Newcomb and Doc Tucker.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 27 at the Fox Funeral Home with Father V. P. Dentinger officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery

Waynesburg - Claude Plummer, 67, of Waynesburg Route 2 died May 30 at home after a long illness.  

He was a retired farmer and was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. Born Oct. 16, 1915 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Neumeris and Lucinda Anderson Plummer.  

Survivors include two sisters, Irene Elkins of LaCrosse, Ind., and Ruby Tschanz of Crab Orchard Route 1; and a brother, Neumeris Plummer of Waynesburg Route 2.  

The funeral was held Friday at Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. David Calhoun. Burial was in Ephesus Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were William Tucker, Morris Tucker, Kenneth, John, and Walter Tschanz, and John Sewell.

two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Coontz, Junction City, Kentucky and Mrs. Pauline Shearer, Stanford, Route 3; one brother, Ray Franklin, Jr., Stanford, Kentucky.  

Funeral services were held at Morgan & Fox Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Greg Hancock and Rev. Chester Easterling officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery

Funeral services for Lillard Plummer, 92, formerly of Crab Orchard Route 1, who died Wednesday morning, Aug. 30 at Fort Logan Hospital Extended Care Facility, was held at  
2 p.m. Friday at Beazley-Speaks-Martin Funeral Home. Burial was in Ephesus Cemetery.  

Born March 19, 1886 in Lincoln County, Mr. Plummer was the son of the late James C.and Margaret Dishon Plummer. He lived in Lincoln County all of his life, was a retired 
farmer and a member of Mount Olive Church of Christ. He was married to the late Nettie Sybil Plummer.  

Survivors include three sons, Howard of Cincinnati, Ohio, Atwood of West Chester, Ohio, and Marion Plummer of Louisville; three daughters, Josephine Woods, of 
Crab Orchard, Margaret DeBord of Hubble and Ella Rupp of Evansdale, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Willie Plummer, 72, of Rt. 1, Darst St., Stanford, died Monday, September 1 at the VA Hospital in Lexington.  

A native of Garrard County, he was born March 8, 1914 to the late William Thomas and Elizabeth Adams Plummer.

He was a retired farmer, a veteran of WW II and a member of Stanford Church of Christ. His wife, Juanita Franklin Plummer preceded him in death.  

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth and James David both of Stanford; one step son, Billy Plummer of Stanford, one step daughter, Louise Franklin, Maxey Valley; 
one brother, James E. Plummer, Stanford; two sisters, Rhonda Crumbaugh of Stanford and Mary Naylor of Florida; 3 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.  

Pallbearers were members of American Legion- Caswell Saufley Post 18.  

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at the Fox Funeral Home with Virgil Horseman officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Military services will be performed by the American Legion Caswell Saufley Post 18.

She died Tuesday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.  

Born March 31, 1915, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Van and Isabell Yeakey Keeton. 

She was a homemaker and a member of Lancaster Baptist Church. She was the widow of John Pollard.  

Survivors include two daughters, Willie A. Metcalf and Doris Lucas, both of Lancaster; a brother, James Keeton of Danville; three grandchildren and a great grandchild. 

Pallbearers will be Woody Ball, B. F. Adams, Joe Overstreet, Julian Moss Jr., Gordon Bourne and Larry Rankin.
