ELLIOTT, Ransom Taylor  

August 27, 1962 - September 20, 1984  

Ransom Taylor Elliott, 22 of Route 4, Stanford, passed away Monday, September 20, 1984, at Edmonton, Kentucky in a car accident. 

He was born August 27, 1962, native of Lincoln County. He was a student at Western Kentucky University (Sophomore), graduate of Lincoln County High School and a member of the Stanford Presbyterian Church.  

Mr. Elliott is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Elliott, Route 4, Stanford; two sisters, Miss Amy Elliott, Route 4, Stanford; and Miss Nancy Elliott, Dry Ridge; his grandmothers,
Mrs. Eleanor Camenisch and Mrs. Ruby Elliott both of Stanford; and his great grandmother, Mrs. Mildred Nunnelly, Stanford.  

Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Fox Funeral Home, with Rev. Daniel Clark officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Ronnie, Donnie and George, Jr., Elliott, Bobby David, Jim Glass and Timmy Williams.

Morgan and Fox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Thursday, January 10, 1980 - Interior Journal  

ELMORE, Mayme H.  

Mrs. Mayme H. Elmore, 70, of Logan Ave., Stanford, died Monday, January 7 at Ephriam McDowell Hospital after a long illness.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was a member of Drakes Creek Baptist Church and widow of William M. Elmore.  

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Bodner of Danville; 2 sons, Bobby Elmore of Danville and Walter Elmore of Dayton, Ohio; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lela Deatherage of Stanford and
Mrs. Margaret Breedlove of Richmond; a brother, John Adams of Bedford, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan and Fox Funeral Home with Rev. William C. Pack officiating. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery.

Thursday, June 27, 1985 - Interior Journal 

ESTES, Cordie  

Cordie Estes, 77, of Rt. 3, Eubank, died Monday, June 24 at Humana Lake Cumberland Hospital following a lengthy illness.  

Born in Rockcastle County, she was born to the late Kitty Belle Kirby and John Logan Renner. She was a housewife and member of Eubank Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 sons, Kern Estes, Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio and Lloyd Estes, of Eubank; 1 daughter, Carolyn Belcher of Eubank; 3 brothers, Edward Renner and John Logan Renner, Jr., both of Cincinnati, Ohio a
nd Thelmer Renner of Brodhead; 2 sisters, Edna Mullins of Cincinnati, Ohio and Grace Taylor of West Chester, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 26 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Rev. Albert McKinney officiating. Burial was in Eubank cemetery.

FARMER, Mary M. 

October 09, 1901 - May 08, 1980  

Mary Mae Middleton Farmer, 78, of Crab Orchard, died Thursday night, May 8 at the Lake Cumberland Community Medical Center in Somerset after a long illness.  

Born Oct 9, 1901 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Golvin and Nancy Ann Crouse Middleton. Mrs. Farmer was the widow of Dink Farmer, and a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ.  

She is survived by four sons, Bobby Lawrence Farmer of Covington, Route 5; Jack Farmer of Crab Orchard, James C. Farmer of Independence and William D. Farmer of Stanford; one brother,
Arch Middleton of Stanford; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Beazley Raney Speaks Funeral Home with Hugh Thomas and Russel Dunaway officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Wednesday, June 19, 1996 - Advocate-Messenger  

FEISTRITZER, Ethel N.  

July 25, 1910 - June 18, 1996  

Ethel Nave Feistritzer, 85, of Hustonville died Tuesday at Charleston Health Center in Danville. Born July 25, 1910 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Will Jenkins and
Dora Wilson Kirkpatrick. She was the widow of Ellwood Nave and A. E. Feistritzer. She was retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio, after 25 years and belonged to Hustonville Baptist Church.  

Survivors include three daughters, Dora Nave Spaulding of Hustonville, Betty Nave Dalton of Delray, Fla., and Mary Feistritzer Kirkpatrick of Hustonville; one brother, William K.
Kirkpatrick of Nicholasville; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  

The funeral will be held at 11a.m. Friday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Nimmo. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.  

Pallbearers are Mitchell and Matthew Spaulding, David and Danny Smith, Chad Julian and Ellwood Webb.

FLANERY, Roach, Sr.  

October 31, 1907 - January 11, 1977  

Roach Flanery, Sr., 69 of Rt. 1, Waynesburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1977 at Danville Hospital after an extended Illness.  

A native of Lincoln County, Mr. Flanery was a farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Jack and Mary McGuffey Flanery.  

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Griffin Flanery, of Rt. 1, Waynesburg; 1 daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Wells, Maxwell, Indiana; 4 sons, Delmar Howard Flanery of Greenwood, Ind.,
James Hershel and Roach Flanery, Jr. both of Beech Grove, Indiana and Clarence Ashford Flanery of Indianapolis, Ind.; 1 brother, Jess Flanery of Indianapolis and 4 sisters,

Mrs. Verdie Bastin and Mrs. Lola Dick, both of Indianapolis, Mrs. Stella Sizemore, Rt. 1, Waynesburg and Mrs. Myrtle Baugh of Rt. 1, Stanford; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  

Funeral services will be held at Morgan and Fox Funeral Home on Friday at 2 p.m.

The Revs. James Jordon and Lew Sharpless will officiate and burial will be in

Mt. Moriah Cemetery

FLANNERY, Cella James Denny  

November 10, 1912 - November 10, 1978  

Cella Kay Flannery, 68, of Stanford, died Friday, November 10 at Fort Logan Hospital after a short illness.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Mynthia Wilson James and a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church.  

Survivors include five sons, George [Franklin] Denny and Larry Flannery, both of Stanford. Charles Denny of Lexington, William Denny of Louisville and James W. Brock of Modesto, Calif.;

three daughters, Mable Mobley of Stanford, May Neal of Morristown, Ind., and Ethel Benge of Junction City; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. 

Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Morgan and Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Johnny Humphrey. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery.

FOLGER, Clyde Lewis

Clyde Lewis Folger, 72, of 420 Rocky Hollow Road, Waynesburg, died February 4, 1993 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.  

A native of Pulaski County, he was born August 5, 1920 to the late Cyde (Clyde) Marshall Folger and Bessie Lou Tarter Folger. He was a retired 25 year employee with Corning
Glass, an Army veteran of WW II and a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Steel Folger of Waynesburg; one son, Charles Louis Folger, Highland; one daughter, Patricia Gayle Good of Waynesburg; two brothers,
Charles Folger of Waynesburg and Frank Folger of Stanford; three sisters, Francis Wall of Stanford, Margaret Poynter of Lexington and Helen Abdon of Columbus, Ohio;
4 grandchildren, Greg Good, Amy Good, Wesley Folger and Dan Folger.  

Pallbearers were Frank, Charles, Wes and Kenny Folger, Greg Good and Jerry McFall.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 7 at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Hill and Rev. C. W. Turner officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery.

FOSTER,  George Elbert "Blue"

George Elbert "Blue" Foster, 84, of McCormack Church Road, Stanford, died

January 1 in Crab Orchard.

A native of Casey County, he was born July 16, 1907 to the late George W. Foster and Lucie A. Watson Foster. He was a retired farm laborer.  

Survivors include four sons, Rev. Hillard Foster, Medina, Ohio, George F. (Pete) Foster, Hawesville, Lewis A. Foster, Owensboro, and Donald Wayne (Blue) Foster, Stanford;
three daughters, Daris Ann Miller, Island, Ky., Luzia A. Foster, Stanford; and Barbara A Higdon, Stanford; one half brother, Dennis Foster, Harrodsburg; one half sister, Adell
Berry, Henry Co. Ky.; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 4 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Carter officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery

FRANCIS, Margaret Hocker  

April 03, 1891 - March 15, 1979  

Margaret Hocker Francis, 87, beloved and highly respected resident of Stanford, died Thursday, March 15 at Fort Logan Hospital.  

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hocker. She was a member of Stanford Christian Church and organized the Christian Women's
Fellowship of which she was a member for more than 50 years.  

She was a graduate of Stanford Female Academy and Hamilton college (now Transylvania University) and a member of the Delta-Delta-Delta sorority.  

Mrs. Francis was instrumental in the organization and was a charter member of the Logan Whitley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Stanford
Women's Club and the Stanford Garden Club. 

A painter, poet and writer, she contributed articles and pictures to the Advocate-Messenger and wrote for Allen Trout's column in the Courier-Journal.  

She was the widow of Kelley J. Francis, who preceded her in death, Feb. 7, 1950

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Hay, of Pittsburg, Penn.; a son, Cabell Francis Sr. of Stanford; a sister, Miss Mary Hocker of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  

Services were held Saturday at Stanford Christian Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Tipton Carroll and Rev. Oscar Mayes officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

 The grandsons served as pallbearers.

Beazley, Raney and Speaks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dillard Carson Frederick, 67, of Route 4, Stanford, died Monday, Jan. 20 at the Fort Logan Hospital.  

A native of Casey County, he was born May 5, 1907. He was a retired employee of Southern Railroad and a son of the late John and Mary Sims Frederick.  

Survivors include his wife, Reba Gooch Frederick; three sons, Garland of McKinney, Connie Ray and Richard Frederick, both of Stanford; seven daughters, Mrs. Jack Noe of Louisville, Mrs. Charles Flynn of Lexington, Mrs. Douglas Bryant of Crab Orchard, Mrs. Devon James, Mrs. Clyde Sears, Miss Brenda and Barbara Frederick, all of Stanford.;

four sisters, Sarah Boone of Sharonville, Ohio, Lela Hall, Miss Ola and Miss Florence Frederick, all of Elmwood, Ohio; 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  

Services were conducted at the Beazley-Raney -Speaks Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Clifton Delk and Bro. Alford Carrier officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery

Newell Fox, 89, of Danville Street, died Friday, January 1 at the Ephriam McDowell Hospital in Danville after a long illness.  

A native of Garrard County he was a retired building contractor, a member of the Presbyterian Church and a veteran of World War I.  

Survivors include his wife, Alva Holtzclaw Fox, of Stanford; 2 sons, Billy H. Fox and Jesse W. Fox, both of Stanford, 2 daughters, Mrs. Nancy Lynn Davis, Piqua, Ohio and Mrs.
Rebecca Carter, Stanford; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  

Pallbearers were Fleece Gooch, Frank Smith, Hugh Sam Holtzclaw, Gordon Sheron, Roland Gander and Alfred Pence, Jr.  

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Morgan and Fox Funeral Home with the

Rev. Daniel Clark officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
