Note (1): An oval shaped picture of Leonard and Gladys is located at the center of the headstone. William "Leonard" Boatwright was the son of Rufus E. and Elizabeth (Adams) Boatright. Gladys (Cornett) Boatwright was the daughter of Henry D. and Doshie (Adams)(Boatright) Cornett. They were both killed in an automobile accident. A bronze foot plaque reads as follows:

WILLIAM L BOATRIGHT
KENTUCKY
TEC 4 US ARMY
WORLD WAR II
OCT 4 1904 Tab MAY 5 1973

Note (2): It is ironic that the military plaque spells Leonard's last name without the "W" since it is said that the military inadvertently added the "W" to his last name on all of their documents. So, rather than going to the trouble of getting all of the government documents corrected, he chose to start spelling his last name with the "W".
