Mrs. Laura Ethel Bays Wynn, age 94, of Barbourville, was born on August 7, 1911 in Knox Co., Ky., to Albert and Phobie Carr Bays and went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 19, 2006 in the Barbourville Nursing Home. She was a farmer and a homemaker and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. In October of 1928, she was united in marriage with Canner Wynn and to this union eight children were born.

In addition to her beloved husband; Canner Wynn; her parents Albert and Phobie Bays; three children; J.B. Wynn, Dorothy Williamson and Jean Engle; a grandson; Rex Wynn; four sons-in-law; James Rogers, Bill Engle, Oscar Williams, and Robert Gick; four sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters; Ann Rogers of Emmanuel Community, Ruby Gick of Lafayette, Ind and Carolyn Wilson and husband Leon of Boone Height; two sons; Lee Wynn and wife Eula of Palm Bay, Fla., and Arnold Wynn and wife Opal of Lafayette, Ind.a daughter-in-law Zelma Wynn of Ohio; 11 grandchildren: Marsha Caskey, Jason Gick, Jarene Lowery, Randy Wynn, Debbie Sutton, Dennis Rogers, Jeffery Rogers, Teresa, Terry Wynn, Dianne Metcalf and Harold Williams; 12 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and a host of other family members and many friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wynn will be conducted in Hopper Funeral Home Chapelon Friday, June 23, 2006 at 11 am with Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Chance Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the Hopper Funeral Home Thursday evening after 6 pm and Friday from 9am to the funeral hour at 11 am. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
