Dean WEST Dean West, 43, of Barbourville, was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 13, 1962 to Helen Perry West Mills and the late Vernon West Sr. and departed this life on August 30, 2006 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired coal miner. Dean enjoyed fishing, reading, and was a loving husband, father and son who enjoyed his family time especially with his children. On August 7, 1981, he was united in marriage with Sandy Gilbert and to this union two children were born. In addition to his father: Vernon West Sr.; his grandmother: Pearl Perry; paternal grandparents: Renzo and Linda West; and stepfather: Leonard Mills preceded him in death. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Sandy West; his children: Kacie West and Stephen Tyler West; his mother: Helen Perry West Mills; brother: Michael West and wife Luvenna; and a grandfather: Tollie Perry, all of Barbourville; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Dean West were conducted in Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 3 at 2 p.m. with Rev. William R. �Mann� Cobb officiating. Burial followed in the Taylor Cemetery at Blackwater with Kim Burnette, Allen Taylor, Doug Messer, Mike Smith, Bill Cox, Tim Cobb, Ray Halcomb and Tommy Mills serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were friends and neighbors. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
