Mr. James E. WALKER

James E Walker, 60, of Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of Barbourville, passed away Friday, June 8, 2007 at his home. He was a son of Geraldine Easterly Walker Beasley and the late James Mealer Walker born on January 28, 1947 in Pineville. Mr. Walker was a former Kalamazoo County commissioner as well as a realtor. He was an avid ham radio operator. He attended Barbourville High School and graduated from high school in Grand Rapids, MI. He went on to earn an undergraduate degree in English and journalism from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in journalism from Michigan State University. His interests also included politics, classical music and books. In 1993, he served as president of the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors. Survivors include his mother, Geraldine Beasley of DeLand, FL; a brother, John Walker of Grand Rapids, MI; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn his passing. A graveside memorial service was conducted in the Barbourville Cemetery Wednesday, June 27 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Delila Miller officiating.
