Norma Lee Garland Wagers, 65, of Cannon, a daughter of the late James and Mattie Payne Garland, passed away Friday, August 22, 2003 at her home. Her husband, Troy Wagers preceded her in death. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Wayne Wagers and wife, Diana of Heidrick and James Ray Wagers of Cannon; one daughter, Clara Terecca Davidson and husband, Samuel of Cannon; four grandchildren, SPF 4 Austin Lee Davidson and wife, Kim of the Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond, SPF 4 Samuel Davidson Jr. and wife, Amanda of Fort Gordon, Georgia, Troy Nathan Davidson of Cannon and Brian Casey Davidson, also of Cannon; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Haley Davidson; five brothers, Albert Garland and wife, Louise of Cannon, Bobby Garland and wife, Euelene of Cannon, Linus Garland and wife, Beverly of Gray, Paul Garland and wife, Carol of Cannon and the Rev. Garrett Garland and wife, Jimmie of Gray; three sisters, Clara Lunsford and husband, Ray of Brodhead, Elizabeth Terrell and husband, Drew of Corbin, and Brenda Timm and husband, Wally of Mendon, Michigan; four half-sisters, Flora Garland of Winchester, Indiana, Lillie Likens of Winchester, Indiana, Christine Jessup and husband, Marvin of Norman, Oklahoma, and Ellen Byrley of Tuttle.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Teague of Trenton, Florida and Iva Anderson of Bloomington, Indiana; and one brother, Arnold Garland. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 24 at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Jackson, Bro. Arthur Downing and the Rev. Bobby Abner officiating. Burial was in the Jackson-Garland Cemetery at Cannon.
