| Charlie Swafford, 59, Barbourville, died Friday at his home on Manchester street. He was an employee of the Peoples Gas Co., of Barbourville. The survivors include his wife, Mrs. Loretta Shupe Swafford, Miami, Fla., and Billy Swafford, Barbourville; five daughters, Mrs. Linda Alford, Mrs. Sheila Payne, and Miss Margaret Swafford, Barbourville; Miss Beverly Swafford, Frankfort, and Mrs. Mary Deaton, Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren; one brother, Chris Swafford, Heidrick; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Mills, Indiana; Mrs. Susan Ridnour and Mrs. Minnie Shupe, Heidrick. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Monday at the Northside Baptist Church in Barbourville by the Rev. Ronald Chastain. Burial will be in the Patterson Cemetery by the Hopper Funeral Home of Barbourville. The pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Engle, James Phipps, Buddy Thomas, Paul Hibbard, Tom Lawson, Bill James, Earl Lawson, -Bill Grace, Spencer Foley, Joyce Canady, and Harold Jones. The body will be taken to the home at 724 Manchester st. today. |
