Lena M. SMITH Lena M. Smith, Age 82, of Flint, MI, formerly of Byron, MI, went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband Denver, on October 26, 2006 at Avalon Hospice with her family by her side. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Monday, October 30 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI, Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Linden, MI. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-9 PM Saturday and Sunday. Lena was born in Barbourville, KY, February 9, 1924. She married the love of her life Denver Smith September 16, 1946 and to this union five daughters were born. Lena worked for Fisher Body Coldwater Road retiring in 1969. She then resided in Byron cherishing the time spent at home with her husband and girls. Lena's greatest satisfaction came from caring for her family. Surviving are: daughters Carol Ralph McMullen of Flint, MI, Shirley Pete Secora of Swartz Creek, MI, Joyce Durica of Owosso, MI, Kathy Dave Edmonds of Swartz Creek, MI, Becky Tom Malone of Swartz Creek, MI; grandchildren, Charla Babieracki, Tracy Simpson, Lisa Burnham, Joe Secora, Amy Secora, Lynn Durica, George Durica, Andy Wolfe, David Edmonds, Heather Edmonds, Samantha Malone, Mike Malone; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters and their families. Lena was preceded in death by her husband Denver, and parents Oliver and Kitty Bargo. Tributes or condolences may be shared at |
