Alvin SIMS
Alvin Sims, 87, of Florence, Ky. and formerly of Warren Camp, was born on April 18, 1919 in Whitley County, Ky. Mr. Sims died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 in the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Sims was a son of the late Lincoln Sims and Katherine Smith Sims. He was a member of the Warren Baptist Church and was a retired coal miner. In the year of 1938, Mr. Sims united in marriage to Lizzie C. Bull. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lizzie; two sons, Isaac and Harold Sims; a grandson, Justin Derand Sims; great grandson, Bryant Joseph Stone; a sister, Beatrice Phillips; brothers-in-law, Martin Luther King, Erskine Phillips and Therman Lipps. Surviving Mr. Sims, daughters, Arbedella Petrey and husband Rev. Arnold Petrey of Warren Camp, Marteal Martin and husand Tommy of Williamstown, Ky.; his sons, Alex Sims and wife Roberta of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Beechie Sims, Terry Sims and wife Stella, Delbert Sims and wife Kimi, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dennie Sims of Covington, Ky. and Ronnie Sims of Cincinnat, Ohio; several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Estil King of Clinton, Tenn. and Laura Bell Lipps of Manchester, Ky. and many other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services for Alvin Sims were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy Wayne Miller and Rev. George Peace officiating. Burial followed in the Wilson Cemetery on Goldens Creek, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Arrangements were under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home.

Alvin SIMS

Alvin Sims, 87, formerly of Warren Camp, died Jan. 11, 2007. Funeral services were conducted in Hopper Funeral Home Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Wilson Cemetery on Goldens Creek. Arrangements were under the direction of HOPPER FUNERAL HOME.
