James G. MITCHELL James G. Mitchell, 67, of Barbourville, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 at his residence. James was the son of the late Joe Mitchell and Anna Lois Tye Mitchell, born to them on April 28, 1940 in Knox County, Ky. James was the owner and operator of Mitchell's Market and Mitchell's Foods in Barbourville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Barbourville, Ky. On November 22, 1962, he united in marriage with Luanne Mahlinger. James is survived by his loving wife, Luanne Mahlinger Mitchell of Barbourville, Ky. One son, James Gregory Mitchell and wife Holly of Barbourville, Ky. Two daughters, Marianna Tye Mitchell Wells and husband William of Buckner, Ky. Amy Elizabeth Mitchell Jarboe and husband Craig of Goshen, Ky. Seven grandchildren, Zachary Mitchell, Keaton Mitchell, Olivia Mitchell, Anna Wells, John Wells, Riley Jarboe, and Megan Jarboe. Two sisters, Joann Coscia and husband Ernie of Barbourville, Ky. Carol M. Pearl and husband Gene of Cape Coral, Florida. He also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. in Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Allen officiating. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Barbourville, Ky., in loving memory of James G. Mitchell. Arrangements were under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home. |
