Rondal MILLS

Mr. Rondal Mills, 54, of 1304 Bimble, Ky., departed this life at his home Friday, Feb. 24, 2006. He was the husband of Evelyn Powell Mills and the son of the late Charlie Mills and Cleadie Cole Mills born to them on March 21, 1951 in Knox County, Ky. Rondal was a Funeral Director and Embalmer with Hampton Funeral Home for more than 30 years. He loved his work and being with people. Rondal also enjoyed working with his tractor on the farm. Rondal received his Bachelors Degree from Union College and also was a graduate of Mid-America Mortuary School. Rondal was a member of East Barbourville Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife: Evelyn Powell Mills of Bimble, Ky.; His mother: Cleadie Mills of Bimble, Ky.; Four sisters: Christine Adams of Barbourville, Ky., Betty Smith and husband Earl of Barbourville, Ky., Edith Hampton and husband Troy of Bimble, Ky., Barbara Earley and husband Dennis of Corbin, Ky.; One brother: Glennis Mills of Bimble, Ky.; four sisters-in-law: Pauline Powell of Bimble, Ky., Lois Stanek and husband Tom of Northville, Mich., Lois Mills of Barbourville, Ky., Lovella Dugger of Girdler, Ky.; Five brothers-in-law: Everett Powell and wife Stella of Bimble, Ky., Leamon Powell and wife Dean of Louisville, Ky., John and Howard Powell, both of Bimble, Ky. and Willard Powell of Bowling Green, Ky. Rondal also leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews in additon to a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Mills were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at 1 p.m. in Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Vandy, Brothers Ross Webb and Greg Tibel officiating. Pallbearers were Doug Hampton, Todd Mills, Geoff Mills, Patrick Earley, Michael Earley, Greg Helton, Tim Davis, Rick Broughton, Randall Powell, Chris Traynalis, John Timothy Powell, Mike Mills, Jeff Wilburn and Ryan Broughton. Honorary pallbearers were members of the 1985 Mid-America Mortuary Class, Robert and Karen Marrow, Jerry Gardner, Ross Webb, Jerry Elliott, Scott Durbin, Bonnie Dunn, Alvin Dunn, Howard Powell, John Powell, Everett Powell, Leamon Powell, Willard Powell, Tom Stanek and all friends and neighbors. Burial was in Yeager-Powell Cemetery at Bimble, Ky. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
