Mrs. Mary Lee Mills, 63, of Bimble, Ky., the daughter of the late Will and Ella Spurlock Hammons, was born in Knox County on Aug. 14, 1922. She died at her home on March 2, 1986.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Springfield Baptist Church for 30 years. On Sept. 5, 1942, she united in marriage to William Mills and to this union two children were born.

Survivors include her husband, William Mills of Bimble; two sons, Jerry Mills and Conley Mills, both of Bimble; five brothers, Amos Hammons of Heidrick, Radford Hammons of Blue Ash, Ohio, Isaac Hammons of Highpoint, Ohio, Burton Hammons of Heidrick and Neville Hammons of Louisville; one sister Evelyn Heberkamp of Michigan; three grandchildren, Cris, Matt and Stephanie Mills of Bimble.

Services were conducted at the Springfield Baptist Church on March 5 at 1 p.m. with Rev. John R. Hash, Rev. Tony Smith and Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating. Interment was in the Tuggle Cemetery at Heidrick.

Pallbearers were Kenny Merida, E.J. Gray, Kenny Payne, Johnny Payne, Larry Mills, Mike Mills, Berto Gilliam and Bill Gray. Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Sizemore, Mike Collett, Ronnie Payne, John Gambrel, Beckham Taylor and Harvey Taylor, all friends and neighbors. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
