Jimmy Lee Lawson, 70, Corbin, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 18, 2003 at his son's home in Louisville.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a retired postal carrier and member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by a loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis Phelps Lawson. They were blessed with two sons, the late Bruce W. Lawson and Jim Ed Lawson and his wife, Kathy of Louisville. Other survivors include his mother, Ivory Lawson Gerow of Erlanger; his father- and mother-in-law, Henry and Tevis Phelps of Corbin; two sisters, Phyllis Clifton and Rose Dalton of Covington; three grandchildren, Natasha Lawson of Corbin, Cody and Konner Lawson of Louisville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darvin Wells and Rev. Doyle Lester officiating. Interment will be at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be given to Tri-County Hospice.

Jimmy Lee Lawson, 70, of Corbin, a loving husband, father and grandfather, was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at his son's home in Louisville. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a retired postal carrier and member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by a loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis Phelps Lawson. They were blessed with two sons, the late Bruce W. Lawson and Jim Ed Lawson and his wife Kathy of Louisville.
