| EVELYN BROUGHTON ISRAEL, 68, of Swan Lake, passed away Friday, January 22, 1999 in the Rockcastle Hospital Respiratory Care Center in Mt. Vernon. She was the daughter of William and Laura Smith Broughton born on May 2, 1930 in Knox County. She united in marriage with Earl Smith. Later, on December 27, 1975 she united in marriage with Gene Israel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Smith.Survivors include her husband, Gene Israel of Swan Lake. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, January 24 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Danny Hembree and Bro. Henry King officiating. Burial followed in the Sanders and Israel Cemetery at Swan Lake. Knox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
