Barbara Jean Hudson Mrs. Barbara Jean Hudson, 58, of Heidrick, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Elijah and Lida Gambrel Vaughn, born on July 9, 1946 in New Castle, Ind. Mrs. Hudson was a homemaker and attended Heidrick Holiness Church. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. On Dec. 9, 1965, she united in marriage with Jimmy Hudson in Barbourville and to this union four children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Garrett, Henry, Junior and Herman Vaughn and Kenneth Smith and three sisters, Ethel Warren, Irene Hopkins and Maggie Nelson. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Hudson of Heidrick; four children, Carol Williamson of Barbourville, Connie Payne and husband Tim of Maryville, Tenn, Danny Hudson and wife Shana of Barbourville and Donna Smith and husband Mark of Flat Lick; two brothers, Gerald and Will Vaughn, both of Barbourville; two sisters, Dora Vaughn of Barbourville and Amanda Sharp of Gray; seven grandchildren, Kevin Williamson, Mark and Jessica Payne, Bradlee and Matthew Hudson and Ashley and Brittany Smith; her mother-in-law, Sarah Shields of Heidrick; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral service was conducted in Knox Funeral Home Chapel Friday with the Revs. Tommy Frazier, Mervial Newman and Denvil Taylor officiating. Mrs. Hudson was laid to rest in Doolin Cemetery. Casketbearers were Charlie Widner, Gary Scalf, Jeffery Vaughn, Ersel Blevins, Ray Price, Kenneth Frost, Charlie MIller and John Davis. Honorary bearers were friends and neighbors. Expressions of sympathy may go to the American Cancer society in loving memory of Mrs. Hudson. Arrangements were under the direction of Knox Funeral Home. |
