Leslie H. Hill, 83, Corbin, passed away Monday, June 23, 2003 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center. He was born October 17, 1919 in Whitley County, a son of the late Simon and Eliza Faulkner Hill. He was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Faulkner; three brothers, Morris Hill, Mance Hill, and Billy Hill; and his wife, Lucille Parks Hill, who passed away April 5, 1998. Leslie was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, and retired in 1976 from the L&N Railroad. He belonged to the Friendship Baptist Church, Hugh Harris Lodge #938 F&AM, and the Knights of Pythias. Survivors include two children, Lisa Ann Hill and James L. "J.L." Hill, both of Corbin; and a sister-in-law, Illene Payne and husband, James of Lombard, Illinois. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 26 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton and Rev. Owen Smith officiating. A graveside service was held the following day at the Corinth Cemetery. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. |
