ALICE SMITH HAMMONS HARP, 89, of Barbourville, died Sunday, September 19, 1999 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Elijah Smith and Mollie Gray Smith, born to them on August 29, 1910 in Knox County. Mrs. In 1926, she united in marriage to George Hammons and to this union, eight children were born, in 1954, Mr. Hammons preceded her in death; in 1970, she united in marriage to Arthur Harp and in 1985, he preceded her in death. Funeral services for Alice Smith Hammons Harp were conducted on Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at 2 p.m. in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denvil Taylor and the Rev. Scott Hammons officiating. Interment followed in the Carnes Cemetery at Hinkle Branch on Road Fork. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
