CORBIN - JAMES PETE ELLIOTT, 58, Williamsburg, former coal miner, husband of Elsie J. Elliott, died Sunday. Services 1 p.m. Wednesday, Hart Funeral Home. Visitation 6-9 p.m. today.

JAMES PETE ELLIOTT, 58, Old Corbin Pike Road, Williamsburg, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2002 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.

Preceding him in death are his sisters, Leaona Long and Thelema Leora Elliott.

Survivors include his loving wife, Elsie J. Elliott, Williamsburg; two sons, Jimmy Elliott, Boston and Hershel Ray Williams, Bean Station, Tennessee; three step-daughters, Lynn Dietz, Richwood, Cathy Cook, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brenda Scott, Paducah; one step-son, Art Scott, Missouri; grandchildren, McKenzie Elliott, Devon Elliott, Jerod Wayne Elliott; one step-granddaughter, Kristiana Moreton; one brother, Layton Elliott, Woodbine; two sisters, Sue Helton and Lillie Mae Myers, both of Woodbine; a special niece, Lisa Cox, who helped to care for him during the last years of his life; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Wanda Jean Powers and Ida Mae Paul, both of Williamsburg; other family members and a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 15 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Sutton officiating. Burial was in the Elliott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Deatz, Bill Ray Moses, Travis Cox, Kenny Fox, Ron Burns, and George Williams.
