Gary DOOLIN

Mr. Willard Gary Doolin, 59, of New Tazewell, TN, formerly of Heidrick, passed away Monday evening, July 3, 2006 in the Knox County Hospital. He was the son of Opal Lee Tuggle Doolin and the late Willard Herman Doolin born on September 5, 1946 in Barbourville. Mr. Doolin was a Chrysler Corporation pipe fitter retiring in 1999 and was a former Union Steward. He believed in the Holiness faith. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid University of Kentucky fan. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing softball. Survivors include his mother, Opal Doolin of Heidrick; three children, Sherry Lynn Hodge of Barbourville, Roxie Davidson and husband, Carl, of Ft. Thomas and Nancy Merida and husband, Michael, of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Kathy Valentine and husband, Ernie, of Heidrick and Sandra Hinkle and husband, Jimmy, of Barbourville; four grandchildren, Malachi, Micah, Michael and Corey; his very special friend, Josie Hensley of Boone Heights; a niece and two nephews, Kristina Hinkle, Jason Valentine and Jimmy Hinkle; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn his passing. His funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, July 6 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Charles Henson officiating. Mr. Doolin was laid to rest in the Tuggle Cemetery at Heidrick. Casket bearers were Jerry Hammons, Wendell Lundy, Randall Tuggle, Dale Thompson, Jason Valentine, Jimmy Hinkle, Carl Davidson, Michael Merida and Eric Smith. Honorary bearers were his friends and neighbors in Heidrick and New Tazewell. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
