Mrs. Pertie Crawford age 74, of Hinkle, Ky. passed away Friday in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, KY. She was born in Knox County, Kentucky on February 7, 1933. Mrs. Crawford believed in the Baptist faith. She loved to garden, especially flowers, she loved to watch the birds at the feeders she had put out. Mrs. Crawford loved being a homemaker especially taking care of her kids and loved listening to the gospel being preached and being sung. Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents Farmer and Cecil Smith her husband Charles Crawford two brothers: B.B. Smith and G.B. Smith and two sisters, Elsie Mills and Dorothy Smith. Survivors include five daughters: Abby Neil of Corbin, KY, Mattie Hobbs and husband Clarence of Barbourville, KY, Bonnie Hubbard of Gray, KY, Mary Casebolt and husband Rick of London and Betty Smith of Corbin, KY, four sons, Carl Smith of Hinkle, KY, Timothy Smith of Apple Grove, KY, Charles Smith of Hinkle, KY and J. Bill Smith and wife Lou of Hinkle, KY three brothers, Farmer Smith and wife Christline of Girdler, KY, Otis Smith and wife Phyllis of Barbourville, KY and R.J. Smith and wife Sally of Girdler, KY, three sisters Sally McVey of Barbourville, Clara Mitchell and Alta Gabbard both of Ohio. She is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Pertie Crawford will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2008 in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen Smith, Rev. Orangie Ray Wheat and Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Smith Family Cemetery at Hammons Fork, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
