Anne Cobb, 83, of Barbourville, wife of the late J.B. Cobb, died Wednesday July 11, 2007 in Knox County Hospital. Funeral conducted in Hopper Funeral Home July 13, 2007; burial Merrimac Cemetery, Laurel County.


Anne Cobb (October 3, 1923 - July 11, 2007)

Anne Cobb, age 83 of Barbourville, passed away on Wednesday July 11, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert Asher and Stella Gilbert Asher, born to them on October 3, 1923 in Laurel County, Kentucky. Anne was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Arart Missionary Baptist Church. She was baptized in May of 1942. On March 1, 1945, she was united in marriage with J.B. Cobb. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Cobb. Three sisters, Marie Asher, Rita Sue Muckerheidt, and Stella Jean Bagwell, and three brothers, Gilbert Jr., Johnny, and Robert.

Anne is survived by her Sons, Jackie Cobb and wife Zola of Barbourville, Kentucky. Billy Earl Cobb and wife Cheryl of London, Kentucky. His brother, Earl Asher and wife Doris of West Port, Indiana. Two sisters, Kathleen Gatewood and husband Floyd, and Evelyn Gatewood all of West Port, Indiana. Seven grandchildren, Leslie, Stephanie, Stacy, Melissa, Casey, Lindsay, and Derek. Great grandchildren, Brady, Katie, and Morgan. Step Grandchildren, Tracy and Scotty. Step great grandchildren, Hayden and twins: Chris and Dale. She also leaves behind many other dear family and friends.

Funeral Services for Anne Cobb will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Friday July 13, 2007 at 11:00am with Rev. William �Mann� Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Merrimac Cemetery in Laurel County with her Grandsons serving as pallbearers. The Cobb family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:30pm until 9:00pm, and on Friday after 9:00am until the funeral hour at 11:00am. Arrangements are under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home.
