Chester CARNES

Chester Carnes, 73, of Turkey Creek, passed away Saturday evening, March 25, 2006 in Baptist Regional Medical Center. He was a son of the late John and Minnie Warren Carnes. He was a retired millwright from General Motors and a former Knox County deputy jailer. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Carnes; three children, Rita Gail Carnes, Lita Kay Rettinger and husband Charles and Paul Carnes and wife Tammy; three sisters, Betty Baker and husband Paul, Hazel Myklak and Irene Collins and husband Gary; two brothers, Tommie Carnes, James Carnes and wife Joyce; one grandson; and one great grandson. Services were conducted in Knox Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, March 29 with Dr. Robert Alexander officiating. Burial was in Hammons Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Knox Funeral Home.
