Mary Lou CANADY

Mrs. Mary Lou Canady, 77, of Barbourville, passed away Friday evening, March 16, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. She was a daughter of the late A. T. and Ethel Poulston Epperson born on October 27, 1929 in Perry County. Mrs. Canady was the former owner of Canady's and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barbourville. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Junior Woman's Study Club. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing and gardening. On September 10, 1947, she united in marriage with J. L. Canady Jr. in Barbourville and to this union three children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. L., on January 28, 2001; a sister, Jessie Lee Williams; and two brothers, Jack and Charles Epperson. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Canady-Edwards and husband, Christopher, of Lexington, Rebecca C. Huntley of Barbourville and Amy Joyce Han and husband, Hauw, of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, Robert Matthew Huntley of Lexington, Zachary H., Nathan Canady and Clayton Han all of Cincinnati, OH; an aunt, Jackie Cooper of Kings Mountain, NC; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, March 19 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Joel Allen officiating. Mrs. Canady was laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Robert Matthew Huntley, Zachary H. Han, Nathan C. Han, Clayton Han, Bob Dunaway and John Anderson. Honorary bearers were her special life-long friends.
