George Brock Jr.

George Brock Jr., 89, of Greenroad, passed away March 23, 2006 in Knox County Hospital. He was a son of the late Theo and Emily Brock. His wife, Drucilla Howard Brock, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Antioch United Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and treasurer. He was a farmer, mail carrier and construction worker. He is survived by five daughters, Cleda Thomas and husband Coleman, Oma White and husband Charlie, Flossie Brock, Georgia Trent and husband Basil, Nora Broughton and husband, the Rev. Terry Broughton; three sons, Claude Brock and wife Mary, Fount Brock and wife Brenda and John Brock and wife Michelle; one daughter-in-law, Francis Brock; one grandson he raised, Wayne Thomas and wife Judy; one sister, Marie Burkhart; one sister-in-law, Nora Gibson and husband, the Rev. Ed Wayne Gibson; three brothers-in-law, George Howard and wife Georgia, Herbert Howard and wife Bernice and Delbert Howard; 22 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. Services were conducted Sunday, March 26 in Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mann Cobb, Ed Wayne Gibson and Shelby Money officiating. Burial was in Blevins Cemetery at Woollum. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
