Drucilla DAUGHERTY BROCK

Kettle Island resident Drucilla Brock, 83, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 at Pineville Community Hospital. She was born Jan. 2, 1925 in Kitts, Ky., the daughter of the late William P. Daughtery and Della Engle Daughtery. She was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church, 50 year member of the Bell County Homemakers and member of the Eastern Star Chapter #89 of Pineville; other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Deneane Brock; grandson, Donald Chuck Brock Jr.; sisters, Almedia Gianini, Delores Stories, Freddie Hoskins; brothers, Bill Daughtery, Clayton Daughterty, Bryon Daughtery; mother and father-in-law, Dewey M. and Cecil Brock. She is survived by the following members of her family, sons, and daughters in-law, Darrell (Dog) and Joann Brock, Kettle Island, Ky., Donald C. and Rose Brock, Kettle Island, Ky., Stephen and Alicia Brock, Flat Lick, Ky.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cody and Harry Bruner, Monnie Stallworth; grandchildren, Denise and Pete Ray, Shonna and Phill Self, Brian (BJ) and Karen Brock, Stephanie and Curtis Eldridge, Hollie and Mark Batimore, Tiffany Mayo, Darrell Jr. and Beth Brock, Kettle Island, Ky., Craig and Belinda Brock, and a host of great grandchildren; special friend, Ted Wilder. Visitation was Tuesday at Mill Creek Baptist Church where Eastern Star Chapter #89 presented Eastern Star rites. The funeral service was held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Revs. Donnie Messer and Jackie Smith officiating and music by Faye Messer, Stephen Eldridge and Mickey Wilder; interment followed in Dewey Brock Cemetery, Kettle Island, Ky.; pallbearers were men of the Mill Creek Baptist Church; honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jerry Woolum, Dr. Talmadge V. Hays, Dr. Shawn Fugate, Rev. Jackie Smith, Harry Bruner, Jesse Bryant, caregivers, Loretta Caldwell, Wanda Shultz, Patricia Ball. Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, Ky., in charge of arrangements.
