Orvil Doyle Brewer (Died January 6, 2008) Orvil Doyle Brewer age 84, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He was born at Tway, in Knox County, Kentucky, to the late Nick and Lucy Crawford Brewer. He was a born again Christian and a member of the Swanee Baptist Church. Orvil was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. Surviving him, his wife, of 63 years, Dorothy Evans Brewer; His sons; Dr. Nick Brewer and wife, Jan; Mitchell Brewer and wife, Irreta Castle; His daughters; Sheila Taylor and husband, John and Sharon Moreland; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; His sisters; Dina Wenderoth; Mae Sullivan and his brother; Nick Brewer. He was preceded in death by; three sisters; Minnie Smith, Zelphia Ballard, Mildred Lewis and a great-granddaughter; Afton Sanders. Funeral Services for Mr. Brewer will be conducted at the Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate, Tennessee, Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. John Gibbons officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick &Lucy Crawford Brewer; Sisters, Minnie Smith, Zelphia Ballard, Mildred Lewis and a great grand daughter, Afton Sanders. Orvil was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was a born again Christian and was a member of the Shawanee Baptist Church. Surviving him is his loving wife of 63 years: Dorothy Evans Brewer; 2 Sons: Dr. Nick Brewer and his Wife Jan Mitchell Brewer and Irreta Castle; Two Daughters: Sheila Taylor and husband John; Sharon Moreland. Orvil was most proud of his family; 4 children, 5 grandchildren: Sherri Taylor Hoskins &Carl; Clay Taylor &Patty; Lee Moreland, Michele Brewer Brooks &Randy, Nicole Brewer Lantman &Brian and his three great grandchildren: Bailey Lantman, Alexandra Taylor and Marty Brooks. He is also survived by two sisters: Diana Wenderoth, Mae Sullivan and a Brother: Nick Brewer. Visitation will be at the Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate on Tuesday Jan. 8, 2008 from 5 until 7 P.M.. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 P.M. by the Rev. John Gibbons. |
