Joe Alfred Bays Joe Alfred Bays, 72, formerly of Knox County, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 at his residence in Sumter, South Carolina. He was a member of Big Brush Creek Baptist Church and a retired Air Force Master Sergeant. He is survived by his wife, Grace Bays; his sons, Joey Bays and wife Cris, Timmy Ray Bays and wife Anessa; his daughters, Shelby Mills and husband Harold, Karen Tankersley and husband Ron; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his brothers, Kenneth Hembree and wife Joanie, Fred Bays Jr. and wife Kathy, Jerry Bays and wife Nora; his sisters, Mildred Kronebitter and husband Don, Geraldine Smith, Joann Bruner and husband Gene, Jeanette Moran and husband Jack. Services were conducted at Shaw Heights Baptist Church in Sumter Wednesday, Dec. 1. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. This has been a courtesy announcement from Hopper Funeral Home. |
