Clyde "Buster" Baker

Mr. Clyde ÒBusterÓ Baker age 81 of Corbin, KY formerly of Harlan, KY departed this life on Monday, August 4, 2008 in the University of TN Medical Center in Tennessee following a short illness. He was the widow of Lena Mae (Smith) Baker and the son of Thomas and Postie Baker born to them on October 21, 1926 in Knox Co. KY. He was a retired mechanic that had been employed by Western Auto. Mr. Baker loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing and looking for ginseng. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Baker, his parents, Thomas and Postie Baker Baker, seven brothers, Chester, Virgil, Marvin, Albert, Leroy, Babe Ruth and Thomas Jr. Baker and one sister Edith Baker.

Survivors include six sons, Robert Baker and wife Lisa of Dalton, Georgia, Steve Baker and wife Mary Ruth of Corbin, KY, Clyde Baker, Jr. and wife Barbara of Elizabethtown, KY, Gary Baker, Mike Baker and Leon Baker all of Dalton, Georgia, one daughter, Michelle Lowe and husband Gary of Smiths Grove, KY, three sisters, Marie Marcum of Corbin, KY Loretta Miller of Barbourville, KY and Juanita Jackson of Louisville, KY, nine grandchildren, Scott, Jennie, Gary, Jessica, Tyler, Bradley, Brittney, Gary and Tara and one great grandchild Justin. Mr. Baker also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Clark officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Scott Baker, Bradley Baker, Gary Couch and Gary Browning and nephews Randy Baker and Jason Marcum. Honorary pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will be in the Carnes Cemetery at Turkey Creek. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements. Friends may call at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m
