Mr. R. C. 'Pete' Bain, 73, of Boone Heights, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 3, 2007 at Kayjay due to injuries he received in an ATV accident. He was a son of the late Anderson and May Myers Bain born on January 31, 1934 at Wheeler. Mr. Bain was a retired press operator from The Advocate Publishing Company. He enjoyed fishing, growing watermelons and loved animals. On May 23, 1964, he united in marriage with Norma Jean Hubbard in Knox County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean, on July 13, 2005; a sister, Pauline Philpot; and three brothers, Anderson Jr., Eugene and Fred Bain. Survivors include a sister, Gunnell Maples of Siler, NC; two brothers, Bill Joe Bain and wife, Sharon, of Louisville, TN and Jim Bain and wife, Anna Marie, of Butler; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Hinkle of Boone Heights and Loretta Gibson of Alexandria; a special niece, Lisa Hubbard and husband, Randy, of Boone Heights; several other nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn his passing. His funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, April 7 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Mr. Bain was laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Bill Joe Bain, Randy Hubbard, Stanley Peace, Randall Tuggle, Charles Sprinkles, Kelly Sprinkles, Larry Martin and Bert Scent.
