The Jessamine Journal gives the following account of a wedding which occurred there last week. It is of much interest here where the bride is popular and has often visited. Her host of friends here regret she is going so great a distance to make her home, but wish her very great happiness: “The culmination of a happy love affair of several years came in the marriage of Miss Katherine Miles to S.S. Coleman, of New Orleans, La., on Tuesday afternoon at the beautiful country home of her father, Col. N.D. Miles promptly at 2 o’clock in the presence of only the immediate family, Dr. E.W. McCorkle united this popular couple in the holy bonds of wedlock, using the beautiful and impressive ceremony. Miss Ann Mason, cousin of the bride, played Mendlesohn’s wedding march as the bride entered the parlor, attended by Miss Kate Fitch, maid of honor, and Arthur Miles, brother of the bride, acting as best man. The bride wore an exquisite imported gown of pineapple cloth with point lace garniture over white satin princess. Her veil was caught with orange blossoms and she carried white bride roses. Miss Fitch looked handsome in a princess gown of white crepe de chine, carrying a bouquet of bride roses. Miss Miles is the only daughter of Col. N.D. Miles and one of Jessamine’s sweetest and loveliest women, possessing a personality that has endeared her to the entire community. She is an accomplished musician and has traveled extensively. Dr. Coleman was at one time engaged in the drug business here and has many friends who, with the Journal, extend to him and his lovely bride congratulations and best wishes for their success and happiness. Immediately after the ceremony, they left in an auto for the East, where they will visit Washington, Philadelphia, and New York; and will sail from the latter place on July 22 on the Mauritania for Bombay, India where Dr. Coleman will represent the wholesale drug firm of Par, Davis & Co., Detroit, Mich.
