Order Book page 13, Monday, December 5, 1864

At a County Court began and held for Hickman County at the Courthouse in Clinton on the 5th day of December 1864. Present the Hon. Willis White, Presiding Judge.

 It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that Noah Davis of this county has been dead more than three months and no person having applied for administration. It is ordered that W.M. Samuels, sheriff of this county take charge of his estate and administer the same according to law.

 On motion of W.M. Samuels representative of Noah Davis deceased ordered that Robert Guyn, G. W. Jordan and Elbert Gay any two of whom being first duly sworn may act be and they are hereby appointed appraisers to appraise the personal estate and slaves if any of said decedent and that they report same to this Court.  Ordered that Court be adjourned until Court in course.

We the undersigned appraisers of the estate of Noah Davis, dec’d, do certify that the forgoing is a true inventory and appraisement of the person property of said estate produced to us by the administrator. Give under our hands this 20th day of Dec 1865. [should read 1864]

Kennick, Clerk of the county court for said county do certify that this appraise bill of Noah Davis, dec’d was on the 13 day of February 1865 produced in open court by his Adm’r examined & approved by the court and ordered to be recorded which is done accordingly.
