19 Oct 1840: Know all _____ by these presents that I, Daniel Coleman of the county of Henderson of the State of Tennessee have this day sold my right, title & interest of a legacy due me from the estate of Daniel Coleman, deceased of the county of Hickman & state of Kentucky. I, being an heir at law of said deceased, ____ William S. Coleman of the county of Dickson, State of Tennessee for the sum of $80 to me in hand paid and I do hereby authorize & empower the said William S. Coleman to ____ my part of said estate and perform any act or acts ___ to reason _____ _____ _____ _____ _____ a manner as I could do. 29 March 1841: State of Tennessee, Dickson County personally appeared before me one William Hightower, Clerk of the County Court of said County, Daniel Coleman and Thomas S. Coleman subordinating mistakes to the above power of attorney who being first _____ sworn _____ and say they are fundamentally acquainted with Daniel Coleman and that he acknowledge the above bill of sale and power of attorney to be his _____and deed upon the day it became date. For testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal of office as _____ this 29 day of March 1841.

8 Jun 1841: State of Kentucky, Hickman County for _____ Taylor clerk of the county court for this county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing bill of sale and letter (power?) of attorney from Daniel Coleman to William S. Coleman are on this day filed in my office and to be regarded recorded wherefore the foregoing letter of attorney & bill of sale together with this certificate and the _____ certificates _____ _____ _____ been duly amended to record in my office and _____ _____ my hand this 8th day of June 1841. _____ Taylor.


29 May 1841: State of Tennessee, Dickson County. I, Thomas Palmer, _____ of the county court of said Dickson County hereby certify that William Hightower is_____ clerk of our said county court that Thomas T. Kelly is his lawful deputy and that the foregoing signatures and seals _____ to be his signature and seal of the office _____ testimony whereof I have hereunto set my and official signature this 29th day of May 1841.
