This Indenture made and entered into this 18th day of November in the year of our lord 1833 between Charles Shelton Parrot and Elizabeth his wife residents of the County of Washington and the State of Kentucky of the one part and Samuel Ray resident of the County of Hickman and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Charles S. Parrott and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty Dollars current money to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and themselves therewith entirely and fully satisfied have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell convey and confirm to the said Samuel Ray his heirs and assigns forever  a certain tract peace or parcel of land situate lying and being in the boundry west of the Tennessee river in the said county of Hickman and in designated and known as the South West quarter of Section twenty eight township two range two west containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less and is the same land that was patented to the said Charles S. Parrott by [illegible] governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky by patent bearing date on the 8th day of January 1828 and numbered 945 recorded I Book E page 120 of the registers office at Frankfort reference being had to the original deed  Record will more fully show the land hereby conveyed to have and to hold the above described land and premises together with all and singular the  rents issues and profits thereof and every privilege and appurtenances thereunto belonging  in many wise thereunto appertaining to the said Samuel Ray his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper and benefit and behalf of them and their assigns and the said Charles S. Parrott and Elizabeth his wife do further covenant grant and agree to and with the said Ray that they have good right to sell convey  and deed the before mentioned tract of land and that they will warrant and forever defend the right and title to the said land from and against the claim or claims of themselves and their heirs and from and against the claim or claims of all and every person or person whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the said Charles S. Parrott and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set this hands seals the day and year before written.

State of Kentucky Washington County} I William B. Booker clerk of the county court for the county of Washington do hereby certify that on the day of the date hereof this deed fro Charles S. Parrott to Samuel Ray was produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Charles S. Parrott to be his act and deed which is duly certified to the clerk of the county court of Hickman County where the land lies to be recorded given from under my hand the 18th day of November 1833. W. Kentucky Hickman County to wit

I, Henry L. Edrington clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing deed from Charles S. Parrott to Samuel Ray was produced to me and admitted to record from the certificate of W.B. Booker Clk of Washington County court whereupon the same together with said certificate and the foregoing hath been duly recorded in my office. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 13th day of January 1834. H.L. Edrington.
