Commonwealth of Kentucky vs John Bagley

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Hickman County and Circuit Set:

The GRAND JURORS duly empanelled, Sworn, and charged to enquire for said Commonwealth and the body of the County aforesaid at the April Term of the Hickman Circuit Court in the year 1839 upon their oaths present that John Bagley late of said county yeoman on the 8th day of April in the year 1839 in a certain House in the county of Hickman and Circuit aforesaid did then and there presume to keep a Tipling house in the County and Circuit aforesaid by then and there selling whiskey, brandy, and gin without first having obtained a license to keep a tavern contrary to the form of the statue in that case made and provided against the peace and dignity of the said Commonwealth.

Information given by John Shaw and Robert Parvie of the Grand Jury, farmers residing in Hickman County.
