FRALEY FAMILY CEMETERY

This is the cemetery of my Great Grandparents, David Crockett Fraley and Malinda “Linda” Barker Fraley. The Cemetery is up on the hill from the site of where their old home place once was. It’s off Culp Road going southeast out of Argillite KY. The lane that leads up to the cemetery is called Fraley Cemetery Road now and is fairly difficult to locate if you don’t know just where to look. Culp Creek takes a sharp turn right there and runs along the lane.This is complete as of August 2003 but the cemetery is still receiving burials according to posting filed at the Greenup County Library. 17 graves total.There are no unmarked graves. All tombstones are clearly marked. Graveyard is privately maintained.

AMERICA JAMESON JAN. 8, 1897- JAN. 11, 1986  (America Fraley Cheek Jameson- daughter of David Crockett & Linda Fraley)

CHARLES TURNER JAMESON  FEB 16, 1898- AUG  22, 1976 (Charles Turner Whaley Jameson, 2nd husband of America Fraley. He was the son of Sid Whaley and Unknown Crump. Charles Jameson’s first wife was Evelyn Burgess who died in 1925)

RAFE CHEEK JUNE 7, 1900-JULY 22, 1925 (first husband of America Fraley, killed in coal mining accident in Floyd County, KY. His remains were moved here from a gravesite near there because of a construction project. His birth date is mis-marked and is 6/7/1895. I have death certificate. He was the son of Charles and Ella Dills Cheek)

CHARLES D. CHEEK MAR. 29, 1921-AUG. 26, 1926 (Charles David Cheek, son of America Fraley and Rafe Cheek. He died of a brain tumor)

OVA CHEEK CPL US ARMY WORLD WAR II  DEC. 23, 1919- DEC. 18, 1984 (son of America Fraley and Rafe Cheek)

FATHER WILLIAM J. FRALEY 1898-1930 (William Jason Fraley, son of David Crockett Fraley & Linda Barker Fraley, died within 4 months of his brother Vollin)

MOTHER CORDIA S. FRALEY 1906-1960 (Cordialia Ethyl Sparks Fraley, wife of William J. Fraley and daughter of Alvin Sparks and Anna Elizabeth Barker)

SOPHIA FRALEY LITTERAL 1904-1936 (daughter of David Crockett Fraley and Linda Fraley and wife of Wayne Litteral)

PVT. OSCAR FRALEY 1916-1942 (son of David Crockett Fraley and Linda Fraley- killed in WW II)

VOLLIE FRALEY 1909-1930 (Volentine “Vollie” Fraley, son of David Crockett Fraley and Linda Fraley, died of cerebral meningitis. He was the husband of Edna Litteral)

ORVILLE E CHEEK E2  US NAVY WORLD WAR II APR 10  1916- SEPT  22  1987  (son of America Fraley and Rafe Cheek)

EVERETT LITTERAL KENTUCKY PVT 2675 REGT ALLIED COM WORLD WAR II FEB. 10, 1914- JULY 31, 1954 (Everett was the husband of Carrie Fraley and the son of George and Ida Litteral. Carrie was the daughter of David and Linda Fraley)
