AUGUSTUS WEISENBERG, a native of Baden, Germany, was born September 10, 1820, and is a son of Paul and Mary Weisenberg, also natives of Baden. Augustus, a trained miller, came to America in 1845, remained in Ohio until 1858, then removed to Woodford County, Ky., and engaged in milling. In 1868 he purchased Payne's depot flouring-mills on South Elkhorn, which mills were erected in 1818, and to which he added the roller process in 1884; the capacity is now seventy-five barrels per day, using water power. Mr. Weisenberg also owns sixty-six acres of land in Midway Precinct, Woodford. He was married in 1846, to Cecilia Spitznagel, a native of Baden, and to this union have been born five children: Louis, Charles, Mary, Alexander and Frances (deceased).
