THOMPSON is the daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Darnaby) Henton, and was born in Fayette County January 26, 1822. December 30, 1840, she married Robert T. Thompson, who was born in Greenup County December 25, 1815, the son of Waddy and Cynthia (Thomas) Thompson. Waddy Thompson, one of Kentucky most renowned citizens, the father of Robert T., was drowned in the Ohio River while endeavoring to save the life of his little son, who had fallen out of a boat and was also lost. Robert T. Thompson was a carpenter and farmer, and died on February 2, 1882, a member of the Baptist Church. The paternal grandfather of Mrs. Mildred D. Thompson was Thomas Henton, Sr., who was born in Virginia. Mrs. Mildred Thompson bore her husband twelve children, of whom nine are living: Mary E. (Mrs. Lewis), Lucy A., Ella (Mrs. V. Lewis), Thomas W. (who married Mary Qualls), Cynthia, William E., Lizzie (Mrs. Thomas Shaw), James R. and Lewis P. Of these Lucy A., Ella, Lizzie, Thomas W., William E., James R. and Lewis P. were educated at the college in Georgetown, Ky., and Cynthia at the female college of Shelbyville. Mrs. Thompson owns 256 acres in Midway Precinct, Woodford County, and with her children is a member of the Baptist Church.
