BENJAMIN J. MITCHELL was born May 14, 1850, and is the eldest son of
William J. and Tabitha A. (Phelps) Mitchell, natives of Jessamine County
and Clark County, Ky.  Benjamin J. is a native of Jessamine County, and
accompanied his father to Woodford County; was there reared on a farm,
and is now a renter there of 160 acres of good land.  He married a Miss 
Lou Oldham, a native of Montgomery County and to this union have been 
born three children: Nannie, Willie and Susan.  Mr. Mitchell and wife 
are members of the Christian Church at Midway.
