Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 5th ed., 1887, Woodford Co. WILLIAM L. GUYN was born June 22, 1847, and is the second son of Hugh S. and Jane (Long) Guyn. Hugh S. Guyn was a farmer, and died in 1869. His father, Robert Guyn, was born in Virginia. William L. Guyn was reared on the home farm and educated in the common schools of his native county of Woodford. February 9, 1871, he married Miss Henrietta, daughter of James and Eliza (Black) Yeagle, and to this marriage one child was born, Charles H. Mrs. Guyn died January 5, 1875, a member of the Associate Reformed Church. August 25, 1881, Mr. Guyn married Miss Mary W., daughter of Robert A. and Eliza J. (Fleming) Thompson, the father a native of Nicholas County and the mother of Fayette County. To this second marriage two children have been born: Elizabeth J. and Hugh T. Mr. and Mrs. Guyn are members of the Associate Reformed Church. He is a farmer, and the owner of seventy-nine acres in Clover Bottom Precinct.
