Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, ed. 8-B, Wayne County Peter T. Stoner was born near Richmond, Madison County, Ky., June 2, 1833. His father, Peter B. Stoner, also a native of Madison County, removed to Christian County, Ky., in 1834, and there died January 13, 1873, a member of the Baptist Church. He married Frankie Tribble, of Madison County, daughter of Peter and Nancy (Boone) Tribble. Six children were born to their union, the subject of this sketch being the youngest. Mrs. Stoner died in 1841, also a member of the Baptist Church. Michael Stoner, grandfather of Peter T., was a native of Germany, who fist located in Philadelphia, Pa., then removed to Virginia, and finally located in Kentucky, whence he went with Daniel Boone. He entered all the lands lying between the Big and Little Stoner creeks, in Bourbon County, and also that on which Lexington is built. The maternal grandfather of our subject located lands in Wayne County, near Monticello, where he died in 1813. Peter T. Stoner was reared on the farm and in the fall of 1834 his father removed to Christian County. He removed to his present location in 1865, and has a farm of 150 acres of well improved land. November 19, 1857, he married Miss Martha Ball, of Boyle County, Ky., daughter of William and Martha (Emory) Ball, natives respectively, of Lincoln and Green Counties. Three children have been born to them: Imogene G., Ernest E. and Eannie T., only one of whom, Ernest E., is now living. In politics Mr. Stoner is a Democrat. He is a member of the Baptist Church, while his wife is a member of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. Stoner's grandmother Tribble was a daughter of Squire Boone, and a niece of Daniel Boone.
