Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Warren County. HENRY SPROUSE is a native of South Carolina, and was born in 1832. He is the son of William and Sarah Sprouse, of English descent. Soon after arriving at manhood he went to Georgia, where he remained two years, and then returned to South Carolina. He remained there one year, and then came to Kentucky, locating in Warren County, near Gasper River. He has followed farming, and owns a good farm of several hundred acres. He married, in June, 1858, Nancy, daughter of Ezra Horton, of this county. They have ten children living, as follows: William T., John H., Columbia J., Ezra C., George W., Charles B., Dora, Wade H., Dona and Donnie (infants); Laura is dead.
